This happened to me last night. I was in late position with the blinds 50/100. I got dealt :ac4: :ad4: . Player A, who was on my left, raised it to 300 total. I re-reraised to 900 total. Everyone else fold except the Big Blind who raised it to another 1000 (1900) total. Player A called. I went all in with 1850 left after calling the Big Blind's raise. The Big Blind went all in with about 900 after calling my all in. Player A called. I figure I have a good chance to triple up here! Big Blind shows his hand: :9s4: :9c4: . Player A shows his hand: :qh4: :jh4: . The pocket nines gave me a bad feeling. My first question to you is what are my odds or winning right now? Here's how the board went:
:3d4: :6s4: :qd4: :4h4: ...before I reveal the river, what are my odds now? The river was...you guessed it :9h4: . I never been some upset over a showdown in my life. My main question is this, was this a bad beat or I made a bad decision to go all in?

Seriously though, do you really us to tell you that this is a bad beat and of course you want to get all the chips in with AA? - we've done AA ad nauseum.

Re odds, look at the odds calculator under articles. If you cant be bothered to input it, I cant either!

T1 this is a bad beat plain and simple, and really not much of a hand for anyalsis. Now if your stack sizes were different, and youd managed to get to the river with 2 other players, and suddenly one of them came alive and started betting, then yes, by all means we will strive to go through the hand with you, in order to figure what your next move has to be.

The fact is all in vs 2 other players, AA wont always hold up. Just as a side any Q or J on the river also had you beat :)

If you can't see that you made the right play here and just got unlucky you really shouldn't be playing poker.

Sorry to sound so harsh, but why on earth would you think getting all your chips in preflop when you're a huge favourite was a bad move? ;)

Oh a simpathy post. OK, you have mine. There there. 7 cards beat you at the tape. You were about an 86% favorite with one card to come.

Wow! Thanks for the calculations. So, the player who had a 4.76% to win actullay took the pot. After looking at it that way, it defintely was a bad beat.
