Situation: Its a freeroll. 18 of 1970 got paid. I am 18th of 19 players at the moment. The shortest stack went all-in UTG. I have AQs. Is this an easy call?

When I 1st read this I put opponent on a mid-pair and say go ahead and flip for it; but when I run this thru Poker Stove with what should be his tighter range since he is UTG, 99+,AQ+ then you are a 60/40 dog. Now with ITM concerns and GAP I think this has to be a fold. With no ante I think you can find a spot where you'll be 1st action instead of calling off.

In the orange 'M' zone at about 5. You just are not gonna see that many more hands, and so waiting for a better opportunity is folly.

Poker Stove be damned, this is an easy call.

I agree, he's as desparate as you and could be pushing with a wide range. You should be looking at first place here, not worrying about 18th.

Hmmm.. With the big stack being less than 4x my stack, I think we have 18 or so more hands we can see and I always prefer to be the 1st to act instead of calling off (unless I have a big hand). Also any read on UTG helps a lot as does any stats. The looser UTG is the more it's a call, the tighter UTG is the more it's a fold. It's all well and good to say M<10, get AQs, shove but you still need to take the time to at least attempt to put your opponent on a hand. Would you still call this if UTG was 12/9 tight?

So i read now this guy was first okace in the end. His VPP was on 77 hands 22,08% and preflop raise 16,88%.

I would give him also a wide range, because he is next to pay BB and could be desperate. BB said he was happy that i called, if not he had called with AT. It was really though hand, but I think i would play it so again.

There might be an argument for not putting yourself at risk and letting one of the bigger stacks take him on instead, but the bigger stacks aren't actually that much bigger than you guys, so it's not a gimme that they'll take that shot.
