Here is the analysis of one of my biggest losing hands. When I picked up AQ I knew it was a troubled hand because it is dominated by AK. A lot of times I will not push with AJ aggressively because it is a troubled hand too but I hit my dream flop or so I thought. I put him on probably most likely an AK or pocket kings.

This was my biggest losing pot. Did I play this wrong? I know at the micros a lot of people are looking to hit a flush, straight, or trips and bust someone. (oops this should be under cash game analysis -- please move to cash game).

ok....when did you put him on KK or AK, why keep minraising $8 away preflop. See a flop, if you called $1 and put money in on Q flop 3 handed, i could understand it. I know its only 3 plyrs but...you're raising like you have a huge hand. You better hope pok35 doesn't see this, he will tear you apart, and i won't blame him this time.

i dont see a problem just flat calling with AQ your out of position for the rest of the hand so you can see the flop and decide what to do then(not that it woulda made much difference)
but calling a re-rasie is not a very good idea here

Obviously I wasn't thinking.. I think this guy had been very aggressive and playing loose. I wanted to see the flop for cheap to make sure there wasn't a king but kinda got caught up in the raising.

Light, wasn't it you who just reloaded, and this is how you're using your $50 deposit. You need to hit the brakes. What happened to sitngos? Maybe go play limit.

Ok, let me ask you this question. If the flop had been K J 3 and your opponent had went all-in on the flop would you have called?

Yes I reloaded but this is not a game played since the reload. I'm sticking $2 SNG for now and only 1vs1 on cash games. I put so much money in before the flop I was committed to the hand. It was a mistake to call the big raises pre-flop. I felt like I had control of that table though and didn't want to lose it. I was really just looking for the Queen and no king. I guess it should have told me he had a set.

Here is my second biggest losing hand. Was this a good time to shove?

first hand there is next to nothing in the pot. if pot is much bigger, stack smaller could be push. 2nd one, there's a bet, minraise, and you have top pr 3rd kicker...I'd be folding before I'd be pushing. Just call, see how it plays out.

First to act and you bet $6.60 into a ~40 cent pot??? It's amazing that you find an idiot to call your 16.5x pot bet with 2nd pair or maybe your table image was that of a total fish so he KNEW his 2nd pair was likely good. Horrible play all around.

Ok you edited your post to add 2 more hands. Honestly I hope you understand how horrible these plays are. You are exactly the kind of player everyone wants to play against. You need to study the game a lot more before you even play another hand. Read all the relevant articles here to start.

Come on guys I'm looking for constructive criticism. These are my worst hands after all!! I know I made mistake. I realize I only had about an 18% chance of hitting the flush or the straight but in my mind I was thinking like it was 50% because I didn't know how to count outs at that time.

Here is one my best hands in money made:

To Start with - it appears - you overplay top pair, you overplay draws, you don't show good dicipline with your starting hand requirements and it doesn't appear that you are paying attention to the players at the table to start with.

And you bet sizing needs serious work.

All that and I am not a good player, FWIW

Thats what you should be doing, getting all your money in with nuts. You need to play much, much tighter until you get better. Bring less to the table even, since you are prone to big mistakes. The quad hand was the worst i've ever seen, essentially 0 pot, what is going to call you? You played the straight normally, why in the others are you throwing so much in with weak hands. The times you are called, you lose so much more than than you win when they fold.

Thanks. I was figuring they'd fold 50% of the time but that wasn't true. I noticed my graph started to go way down when I started making these all in pushes on draws. I realize I would only do that if the pot was huge and my outs make sense for it now. I will go back to the drawing board.

Well you had no part of the board, thats enough HH. I want to say go back to playmoney, but you won't unlearn out of control betting there, you'd probably win. Play all Cardschat freerolls for now. Learn limit holdem, read strategy articles.

It is probably a good rule of thumb to just raise AQ, and either call a 3-bet from a loose player, or fold to a 3 bet from a tight player.

light65536: bets $6.60 and is all-in You have flopped a huge draw no doubt about it. 2 overcards, open ended straight draw, and flush draw. You are a HUGE favourite over A9 here (almost 70%). However, this still isn't the way to play the hand. Either bet, then shove if raised, or check raise. Don't open shove into a tiny pot...it makes no sense at all. However, this hand isn't as bad as when the money went in you were a huge favourite. There is absolutely nothing wrong with stacking on a huge flop like this, but there are MUCH better ways to get your money in than open shoving. So ignore anybody who says you shouldn't stack in this situation because at NL5 you should every single time. You just got unlucky.

Here I made a similar play. I'm not sure the odds warranted these all in shoves.

With all that action you should probably fold here, but if you do want to play you have to flat call and try and see SD cheap and you really are going to have to fold to a bet on the turn. Think small hand, small pot. Your hand is not a strong hand here at all.

Even if you are getting good odds to call, this hand is just going to get you into trouble. Limp from SB with hands that have the potential to get you the BEST hand. J3o doesn't so just fold it and save the headache.

But not only this, you are narrow his calling range to only hands that can beat you or chop. He can ONLY call with a J, QQ-KK or an ace. Therefore, you cannot get called and win the hand and as such this is HORRIBLY HORRIBLY -EV.

very good step by step constructive criticism from feitr... and i didn't mean not to get money in on huge draw, just shouldn't be buying small pot with that hand.

You're correct about me at least. Doesn't change my opinion of the OPs play on that hand but it's not so horrible from his opponent now.

Yea i didn't see that...still doesn't change the fact that you should have no problem stacking on this flop. And evne with a higher flush draw, you still have 35% equity and it is extremely rare that you will encounter a higher FD. More of a cooler then, since that flop is basically the biggest flop A9s could ever hit while it is the biggest flop that JQs could ever hit short of a made straight.

Also my problem is not with stacking on that particular hand. My problem is with throwing out 16 times the current pot when 1st to act. OP was unlucky to run into a hand worthy of calling his huge overbet, but normally he just wins ~40 cents.
