Hi, I was in a $7000 freeroll on Pokertime and made it into the money :D winning a grand sum of $1.40 for finishing 312..

Anyway, to cut to the chase, the blinds were 300/600 and I have about 5000 chips. I am in the money already and on BB position.

A player in early position calls all in. I have AQ hearts.

Everyone folds and it comes to me. have about 1000 more chips than him so I am not going out of the competition. I would still be in albeit short stacked, if it went tits up.

I call....

The flop turns up two hearts and a J. The turn comes up and its a low spade. Along comes the river and lo and behold its the k hearts. Flush achieved, bye bye matey.

Anyway, the bloke goes absolutely mental calling me a donkey, abusing the hell out of me and everyone else joined in saying I was a lucky SOB and a donkey for calling him.

Would you have done the same and if not, why not.

I have no idea what villian had since you don't say but you have less than 10 times BB and villian has even less than that so his range is large. I would call this, as another famous CCer would say, approximately 100% of the time. So no you aren't a donkey for making this call.

Sorry, he had pocket Js therefore the J on the flop gave him the set, only for him to be outdone by the river heart which gave me the flush.

with an M of less than five you should have been in push/fold mode and you have a decent hand to call him with as would have pushed this hand regardless of position.
You made the only play you could with that hand and it was the correct play.:)

Right play i say....villian has an m of less than 9...Shoving range is huge. He is just fuming because he made trips and lost and decided to take it out on you which makes him a fish in my book.

You made the right call, and you can't even really call it a suckout. JJ is not the best of hands to have

Short-stacked, already in the money (in a freeroll, no less) I don't think we can fault a call here. Unless you've got some read that villain will only make this move with AA / KK / QQ / AK, then you should be in good shape against the range of a short stack's push.
