Hi there Considering that you have little information about the villain and that he 3bet both you and when playing button, I consider that the fold is fine. He has practically no bluffs and bets heavily on both the flop and the river. I think his range fits J-J +

That was a tough call man. The turn didn't help either. So considering that you had no idea about the guy, choosing to wait for a better spot was the right thing to do I guess. You wouldn't want to call there and see JJ or even 99... How did you end up doing in the tourney ?

I have only played a few 50$ tournaments, so I dont have any strong ideas about player pool tendencies. But ignoring that I think, the opponent is showing a lot of strength. He 3-bet preflop from big blind, even though he was getting great odds to just call, and he did it against someone, who had him covered.

He also more or less committed himself with his turn bet, since if you call, pot is more than 20.000, and he only has 8.000 left. To me this is also a sign of strength, since if he was bluffing and planning a tripple barrel, he should be more inclined to leave a big bet behind for a river jam.

As he sized his bets, you more or less have to call across most river cards, if you call turn. And if he is good enough to understand that, this is probably, what he wants you to do. It feels very nitty to fold an overpair, but really your hand is just a bluff catcher with this action, and his line looks very strong. So I think, you made a good disciplined fold here.
