Hey all!

I played this hand two days ago. We were heads up for the win. Here is the HH:

Hand History driven straight to this forum with DriveHUD Poker Tracking Software

NL Holdem $25000(BB)
SB ($1859142) [VPIP: 28.3% | PFR: 20.2% | AGG: 27.7% | 3-Bet: 11.5% | Hands: 99]
HERO ($905858) [VPIP: 22.8% | PFR: 17.1% | AGG: 24.5% | 3-Bet: 7.9% | Hands: 1964]

Dealt to Hero: A 2

SB Calls $12500, HERO Raises To $77500, SB Calls $50000

Hero SPR on Flop: [5.34 effective]
Flop ($155000): A 3 2
HERO Bets $77500 (Rem. Stack: 750858), SB Calls $77500 (Rem. Stack: 1704142)

Turn ($310000): A 3 2 T
HERO Bets $206667 (Rem. Stack: 544191), SB Raises To $1704142 (allin), HERO Calls $544191 (allin)

River ($2765000): A 3 2 T T

SB shows: 5 4

SB wins: $1811716

Villain is a winning regular and seems to know what he is doing. He is a TAG.
Pre flop looks standard to me. Flop I bet small because his limp/calling range is not very strong and we want him to continue. Turn I bet bigger because there are now numerous draws and I dont want to let him see the river for cheap.

When I face the raise, I consider his range to be flush draws (both suits), I cant really see many sets in his range because I dont think he is gonna limp/call with TT 33 or AA and 22 is only one combo. Also I think he might be playing some weaker two pair like this.

What do you think, is it correct to call off the turn?

On the river you would have a fold - a double board would kill your two pair advantage. You had a good hand on the turn, everything was played correctly. It just happens sometimes when both players get really strong combinations.

1st. Dont isoleit with small Aces.
2nd. If the opponent calls with this shit, next time increase the size.

I wouldn't do anything different. You block A3, AA and 22 on the flop. The only hands you could be afraid at that point would be 33 and 45 but you can't be too afraid of them, so definitely bet the flop. On the turn you could be more into their range with TT, but they could just as likely be shoving with AK or AQ. Hard to fold. I certainly wouldn't.

To be clear... this is not a FUN spot to face a raise on the turn in a 3bet pot HU. He's going to have us beat a decent amount of the time.

But there are about a billion combinations where he picks up equity on the turn and can just decide to go ham, or thinks AJ or A9 is the nuts here.

There is a lot of 22, 33, 45, A2, A3, and I think especially AT out there, but it's not enough to outweigh how strong this hand is not only absolutely, but within our own range. We have so FEW better combinations - we're never folding this.

NH, unlucky.

This is a cooler. It's nothing you can do. It happens. But you can find a fold on a paired board, but it is difficult.

Thanks everybody.

That was the reason why I called. I was pretty confident that he can overvalue Ax hands or some weird two pair combos which I beat. Thanks!
