Most poker experts recommend, that we dont vary our bet sizing based on the strength of our hand. However when we have a very strong hand, there are clear advantages to betting small, so we dont lose our customer. This was masterfully illustrated by my opponent in this 5,5$ MTT on Stars. Had he used normal sizing, I might have folded, but he gave me a price, I could not resist, and kept me involved. Watch and learn :)

Well sometimes it works out as well. 😅

In yesterday's CC VIP game, I had bottom pair on flop in a limped pot and he bet 1 BB on flop and turn, so I called and went to 2 BBs on river, so I called again.

Turns out he had two pair since the flop but I'd probably have folded to any significant bet, on turn at latest.

But yes, often the slow playing backfires - except having the nuts.
