76 players of 180 remaining, and up until this hand i had played 9 of 51 hands, very tight thus far. blinds are 50/100 and i raise 3x BB to 300. folds all around the table and 1 guy calls. flop is 8TJ and hes first to act. he goes all in for a little over $1000 i quickly call. he flips over T8/diamonds and theres only 1 diamond on board. then villian miraculously hits 8 on turn as if he knew it was coming. is there anything not right in how i played this hand? give me some advice please-heres the hand history:

Isolation works both ways

Isolation works both ways, he just got lucky he was getting low and he figure if u had AK you would fold if u didnt hit the flop and he just got lucky. You had to call and he had to go all in because of the size of the pot being 60% of his stack before he even moved in on u

Nothing you can really do, if he's gonna hit a 5 outer dont worry about it too much. Made the right play, just didnt get the result you were looking for.

You played it fine and got unlucky; nothing you can do about that.

Please don't post results though. It completely changes the responses you get.

fwiw I probably raise to 400 rather than 3 preflop, but there's nothing wrong with 3.

You made a mistake in your first post, Pot was 3TJ not 8TJ...

Looks like you played it fine, I personally wouldn't have called on the flop as you would have needed runner runners for a straight or a flush.

I guess you just got rushed by a lucky nub.

agreed. stacks are shallow enough that 300 is probably alright. if stacks were deep, i think it'd be a mistake as you'd be dishing out too much in implied odds
