Hey there,

No one can really answer these types of questions without some general info (or in depth info, which is even better) on the villians you are up against. Also, what type of tournament it is, the payout strucutre and how fast the blinds go up.

Yeah in the second hand it really doesn't matter if villian is tight, we're committed anyways, so we may as well just save ourselves a decision and just shove preflop.

In the first hand flat callingis about the worst option we can choose, so if he's really loose and folds a lot to re-steals then it might be ok to shove here, otherwise we're usually accepting a showdown here most of the time.

Third hand, just fold, or if you feel the need to enter the hand, min-raise or something that isn't passive.

1st hand:
Pre flop to me is either a shove or a fold. Depending on the villian. There is not much IMO that we can beat if he is solid and if he is stealing we can make him pay. By moving all in he is getting 1.5:1 to call so we have the ability to still put some pressure on but only right now. By calling we are putting 20% of our stack in with a Mediocre hand out of position.... Just not good spot.

Hand 2:
Shove UTG or fold. If you win the pot pre uncontested you add 15-20% to your stack. If called just hope you have 2 live cards or at least 1 over to his pair.

Had 3:
Fold or Raise-pre 2.5x. Get the blinds out and try to take the pot now.

As Played
Check the flop. Pair of 2 with gut str8 is not that strong with 4 villans. What are your representing with a bet here?

As played I dont really like the bet on the turn... Who is going to call you who you dont split or loose to? Maybe flush draw? If bet 1/2 pot is good enough. This is why if you play A2 you need to bet pre-flop so you can deduce the odds that he has a 6. Likely he just has an A like you but because you are out of position and have no idea what he has you are in a difficult spot. Very easily he could have something like 67, or Ax. Here you have to decide if you think Villan would limp in CO with 67, 56, A6 or if only has Ax. As played I would be inclined to call on the turn but really depends on villian. If I felt that 50% of the time he does this with an A then I call. You already have too much in the pot to walk away then with your small stack.

My suggestion overall in Tourney play: Dont be afraid to raise pre. and pay more attention to position. Unless you are Gus Hansen you want to avoid mediocre hands out of position. Once you get down to 10-15BB you need to try to pick up chips anyway possible. Shove Pre looks good as usually high chance of success and if called you likely either are 50/50 or have some live cards. YOU DONT want difficult decisions post flop.

Good luck.

Hand 1 I'm almost certainly folding preflop. We don't want to play a bloated pot OOP with a hand as easily dominated as that and unless we've got a read that villain is raise/folding a lot preflop we don't have a strong enough hand to shove-steal with.

Hand 2 is another shove or fold preflop hand because we've got less than 10BB in our stack and I'm leaning very heavily towards open folding preflop.

Hand 3 folding preflop is fine too, it's a full table, we have the weakest of aces and limping isn't all that cheap.
