definitely dont mind getting him in here. if he limp/called oop pf with AQ or KQ or QJ or 99 then I just mark him as a big ol donk and consider my chips in escrow. :)

I wouldn't be totally against shoving this either, the only consideration is that the BB is on about 30BB's, but our hand is probably strong enough to ship 30 bb's here. But it's kind of risky still, so i prefer raising, though it leaves us in akward spots like this, it's better than being snapped by JJ from the BB, when we have loads of equity in the tournament.

I don't consider it awkward whatsoever. I'm not scared of busting or something. I make these players fairly often: have a big hand, much ahead of fishs limping range and want to get all the money in but have too much to shove so I bet 1/3 effective stack. This leads one pot sized bet behind which I basically shove every time, unless it's a terrible flop. I think these plays are good but not sure. The other option would be to raise to 250 or something small and rely on a good reading ability to determine whether I'm ahead on the flop and play accordingly. However, I'm not that good at reading players

Seems about right to me. Why give a short stack a free card to hit with that Axs? Obvious nit/fish to me.
