I tend to play squeaky tight in the early phases of these triple up tourneys.
so the blinds are 25/50 we still have 9 players, 3 will be paid $9 each.
I have exactly a starting stack of 1500
my m=20.
the UTG player is short stacked with only 625. he opens for 175 leaving 450 behind.
I flat call from the cut-off with AK. I like to see a flop with AK early on, later I'll jam with it no problem.
Well, the SB min raises to 300 (I had to do a double take to make sure it was really even a legal raise).
The UTG player shoves for his last 450. so now there is 975 in the pot and it costs me 275 to call so I'm getting 3.5:1 on my call so I think I have to call for pot odds.
Instead, I decide to try and isolate and improve my chances by hopefully getting heads up with the SS and seeing all 5 cards.
Of course the SB calls with KK and the short stack had QQ and I never spike my ace.
Should I just fold AK preflop after the short stack jams even with the pot odds?
