Tournament in question is the $3.30 $1,500 GTD on Black Chip Poker. We are about an hour and a half into the tournament at this point, and get into a very interesting spot on the turn in a big multiway pot. Before I reveal how the hand transpired, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Action is to us. We have turned top pair in a pretty bloated pot after flopping an open-ended straight draw and a flush draw. Given how the action went on the flop, with my 4-bet getting called and overcalled, there are definitely some alarms going off in my head that top pair with a weak kicker is probably beat here. We are up against two opponents, and all three of us are playing pretty deep, with 40+BB stacks effective, to start the hand. There is now about 8400 in the pot. We have about 8000 chips behind, and both opponents have us covered. What is your line here, and why?

preflop, raise.
flop fine, turn, go all-in already, you have SDFD, can not fold, too much equity to give up.

Question

I am curious as to your line of thinking about raising preflop. Why is raising T9dd from UTG better than limping?

because with raising you can win the pot immediately, with calling you don't have that.

Let go. Very tempting, but with a flush draw, and you not part of it, not worth the chips

Not a fan of limping 9Ts from UTG. If you get a raise, are you calling? You’re likely OOP with a mediocre hand. Couple players in the pot who can stack you.

This hand is a lot easier if we raise to start. I also think your hand is not likely in your opponent’s range for you if you do that, so you’ve got that in case you hit A/K of diamonds on the river or J/6. As you already know, as played has put you in a very tough spot with two rounds of betting to go.

I’ll guess one of them hit a set, probably 5’s, or two pair and the other is also on a flush draw, with something like K8.

Hope it worked out for you

With an unraised pot it is very possible that someone flopped two pair or a straight. I am tempted to re-raise all-in on the flop and that is probably what I do there,( not saying that is necessarily the best play but it is most likely what I do ).

Thank you for the input everyone! It was interesting to hear the reasoning behind why the preflop raise was a better idea than limping, and I appreciate your thoughts on that matter. What is most important to me is finding out the reasoning behind a certain line. Listening to you guys dissect your thoughts on that is very beneficial. It's great to find out the optimal line here, but what is even more important to me is why that line is better than the one I took, so that I can apply it in the future.

Here is how the hand went down:

Having flopped huge, my goal with the flop re-raise was to try and isolate and go heads-up to the turn and river, which did not work out exactly as expected. On the turn, I had a critical choice to make. Do I check and leave myself an exit door strategy in case I miss all my draws, since most likely a single pair of tens is no good at showdown? In a higher buy-in tournament, I certainly would have considered it for longer and probably opted for a check on the turn. But given that it was a $3.30, I decided that I did not want to be put to the test myself, and applied maximum pressure by jamming the turn. I figured I had enough equity in the hand to justify a shove. Unfortunately, it did not work out well.

Again, thank for your input everyone!
