This was within my first couple of hands on Bovada so no reads and no info...

UTG: 1,680
UTG+1: 2,060
UTG+2[Hero]: 1,560
UTG+3: 1,420
UTG+4 1,435
BTN: 1,420
SB: 1,460
BB: 1,500

SB posts 20, BB posts 40
Pre Flop: (60) Hero has :kh4::qh4:

UTG folds, folds, Hero raises 120, folds, folds, folds, folds, BB calls 80

Flop: (260, 2 players) :3d4::8h4::5h4:

BB checks, Hero bets 120, BB calls 120

Turn: (500, 2 players) :8c4:

BB checks, Hero checks

River: (500, 2 players) :6c4:

BB bets 40, Hero.....???

probably should not have checked the turn

what kind of range are we looking at from him here? if played as is up to river are we flatting, or do we have enough FE to justify re-raising here?

should've bet bigger on the flop, betting the turn doesn't achieve much since he's now less likely to fold 2nd pair hands and if he has an 8 then you're screwed.

I don't think you make much fold to a raise apart from A high, but since you checked the turn you aren't repping anything (this isn't apparent to a drooler though)

I probably call to see him show J4o.

I think it's fine all around. Just call the river. You're beating most no-pair hands. He's probably extracting max value from you with his rivered straight or full house. :)

Bet the turn.

Actually, yeah. Was just going to edit my post to suggest that. Unless he's a total station, the 8 is a pretty safe card to double barrel.

why bet the turn? it means you're repping 8 or air.. and its going to be air a lot of the time here isn't it?

not contradicting, just want your thought process.

your percieved value range is alot wider than 8x, its more like 99+, sets, A high, Flush draws, combo draws.

Seems a bit too wide. Given that you raised pre-, quite a few players at this level will assume you don't have a set because they would have limped 33 55 or 88.

The turn is a bad card for any hand that doesn't have an 8 and cuts down on his number of flopped sets. This is a donkament so there's no guarantee villain even realizes we have cards.

Basically what has been said. Flop bigger and barrel turn.
