I would have bet on the turn with the straight and flush draw out there. Other than that, you played it fine.

There's no h in was.

You gave your reason for turn check which was fair enough - now you know what they have it's clear they weren't going to be too aggressive, but you didn't know that at the time.

On the river, you haven't managed to gain any information as to possible holdings, so 3 is a possibility (and higher pair will now have counterfeited yours), so call is probably best.

Why does everyone always bet the pot? You could have bet a few chips less on the flop, and opponent bet 600 to win 600 (even money) with ace high and 2 players left, why not 400?
