Hello all,

I would like your opinion regarding this sick hand in the beginning of the PokerSTar's BlowOut Series $22 which I entered with the ticket we all won over the New Year's...

Not many hands have been dealt but the players were been very lose (but not THAT lose) so I was sure to have at most a dominated villain (which I had) and not much more that that... but the J3 off suited was really a phenomenum.

What do you think?

Isolating the limper to 4BB is spot on perfect. If you were deeper, you could go a bit larger, but with only 20BB you cant go so big, that its obvious to everyone, you are never going to fold. You need to leave enough room for someone to come over the top with their A5s or their KQo thinking, they have fold equity. Which of course they dont have against this hand, where your plan is to snap up any 3-bet.

Flop
You flopped top pair second kicker, and you face a very small donk bet and a call with a stack to pot ratio of just a little over 1. Very easy spot to get it in, which you did.

Results
You got it in on the flop 3-ways with 83% equity, which is pretty much as good, as it ever gets. What happened after that, does not matter at all. Never question the way, you played a hand, just because someone got lucky against you after putting in their chips way behind.

Thanks for the feedback. I feel very insecure about my playing but this wasn't a hard one. Anything after the flop was just things that happen. Ok. What makes me uneasy is how a player in a $22 sattelite tournament looks at his J3off with 2 more guys in the hand and thinks "hum, this is a great hand for me to play, let's do it... wow, mid-pair on the flop, I must be nuts... oh oh, an all-in raise with a call... my J3 must be nuts still". LOL

The cards are the cards. What can we do, right?
Cheers!

I see you played this hand perfectly as I would play it in the same way.Such tourneys are very luckdependent because of a big amount of recreation players so it can happens.Thats why poker is an interesting game for many people.Good hand and good play.

LOL

Apparently they had given away a lot of free tickets for this? In that case there will obviously be some very bad players, that you would normally never see in a 22$ tournament. Which is of course just good for the more serious players, since it gives them a chance to get their chips in really good.
