$2 NL HE: Endgame of tourney, extracting most money when flopping kings full

Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 27/14/5.3

The button was an aggressive, solid player who had seen me slowplay with a big hand before. For that reason, I bet on the flop (although I MEANT to bet 1000 but I rushed it and only typed in 100 so it defaulted to the min bet of 600....stupid but w/e ) to try and make him think I didn't have a monster. When the ace hit, I was praying that he had one and tried to pretend it scared me. I shoved after he bet because I felt if he didnt have an ace, he would be check/folding the river 90% of the time, and I wanted it to both look like a bluff and give him a spot where he could call and still think he had outs.

Maybe I should have smooth called the turn. Thoughts?

Min raise, or maybe almost time-out then flat call. Theres only one card u dont wanna see on the river.

\/He Folded ignore this next comment... Ill leave it in for humour purposes!lol \/

PS. Have you seen this guy flat call monsters pre-flop?? the weak bet on the turn is worrying. I know theres very little chance hes got aces full but you cant discount it.

This all the time. Its a rare spot that we get to capitalize on the minraise, but this is a must right here

Edit: I read the OP too quickly. Minraising is definitely good cause we want as much of our opponents stack in the middle as possible, but since much of what our opponent holds is going to be folding to a turn c/r some of the time I might opt for a call on the turn and then lead the river with a bet that is a little less than half the pot. Any ace certainly wont fold the turn or river, so this gives the more likely middle PP's to catch a 'bluff' river bet.

Turn is not the place to check raise( way to strong)-I would just flat his raise then value bet the river. I think this way he would have to call the river.

u flopped the monster of monsters. Your turn check was right, the c/R part of it was wrong. You let him think he has a chance, and if he does have an ace, he has 2 outs and those are the chances I'll take most of the time to let him feed my stack.

If an A shows on the river then you have problems, but until that happens, my advice is to let him think he will steal this pot away from you, cause you know better:eek:

This... Check raising in that situation is just TOO strong. Just value bet the river making it look like a bluff....

I have to admit being surprised that villain folded, even to a shove after committing half his stack already. That being said, I would either smooth call villain's turn bet or make a min raise.

But to me, he has shown strength all the way along and no reason to think he wasn't calling this down regardless.
