$2.5 NL HE: Villain apparently tilting

So, before the hand in question, this one happened:

After this, the Raalte goes "f*** this game (...) how can you shove with AJ there" and so forth. Next hand, he open shoves. I have A7 suited and thought there was a very good chance he was tilting and I had the better hand. Well, he had AK again...

So, my question is, how do you guys deal with this situations? How much do you broaden your range, if at all, when you see someone who seems to be tilting? And how would stack sizes affect your decision? I wouldn't call if I had a higher M and had to put my whole stack on the line. With the M close to 10 that seemed like a very good chance to double up.

I'm asking because I still think I'd be good there most of the times, not that he'd be pushing with atc, but I think he would with a lot of hands that A7 beats (smaller aces and any 2 broadway). But every time I spot a "tilter" the guy seems to actually always have a monster...

In my opinion having the best hand is not always a good reason to call, especially in satellites. A7 simply doesn't cut it, even if he were to show you 2 3 offsuit before any betting action.

We were still far from the final table, there were more than 50 players left, and there were escalating prizes (there was money besides the seats). So I'm guessing that at this stage, if we were to use ICM, the correct play wouldn't be that much different from the one in a normal tournament.

That's exactly what I'm asking, it's just another way to put the question...

So, when you see a guy who's potentially tilting (just got sucked out on, is going mad on the chat and open shoves 16BB the next hand), what range do you put him on?

If there were other prices besides the seats that changes the equation a little. Doesn't change what I think about A7 though :p

Edit: If I get dealt a big hand after a bad beat, I'd fake tilt as well. There's usually a git falling for it. I'd go spartan with AQ+/99+.

It's probably because there isn't a big prize.

If it isn't a good payout to them, they don't care what happens.

They decide to push every hand and make everyone else have less fun just so they can get out of the tourney.

What I wonder is, why join the tourney if you don't want to play correctly?

There were.

So, I guess the answer is the guy is more likely to be fake tilting with a good hand than actually tilting...
