I am curious for some responses on this hand. Did I play this ok, or did I donk the turn and be happy with my win on this hand. I just like to see cheap suited connectors early. Early into this 3-table sng, top 4 get sunday million entry...

also, should I have folded preflop here, pretty loose table so far (5 per flop with raises) but it is early and I really didn't have reads...

I like suited connectors, but in position in a mulitway pot on the cheap. I might call a small raise with them, but not likely in the SB. I would of folded preflop here.

But, since you didn't, why did you essentially check it down when you got the desired result. Did you not want to bet into the flush? I would have either bet the turn, or raised the river. Top pair, or in this case and overpair, would have probably called along.

IMO theres nothing wrong in keeping the pot small with two callers there when theres a flush out there.

Besides you betting strong with a flush out isnt gonna get called by much.

I have a slightly different take on this. Both players showed interest in this pot on the flop calling raise-reraise so I don't think there is a reason to slow down when you hit your hand. If you bet out the turn and get reraised then that's likely a flush and you can reevaluate. However since one villan bet and you raised before the flush was there it's likely you will get called by a lesser hand here such as an over pair, TPTK, or 2 pair, set, etc.

If you are going to play hands like 7-8 (and I have no problem with that) you need to make money out of them to make up for most of the times when you have to fold on the flop.
