Haven't played a hand with this guy, he's fairly knew too the table.

My initial thought is flush draw, maybe middle pair.. or worst case scenario top pair weak kicker....

Very bad turn card for me.

Its a limped pot so its hard to get a good read.. he has a wide range

I guess he could possibly have a 10 and checked turn because he's scared of you having an eight. Then value shoving river?

Does he value shove OOP.. without an eight? wouldnt he still be scared of the 8? Or because i check behind on the turn he thinks his 10 is good? hypothetically speaking

I fold for a better spot. Villain doesnt show.. He ends up busting out.. Im at the FT right now

Ive always wanted to get inside people's minds when they do stuff like this...someone explain what the heck Hero is doing?

Yeah I think depending on the stage of the tournament, I would definitely come in for a raise with 99. But given the way you played it, I would almost always fold when he shoves because there aren't many hands you beat. Even top pair with weak kicker beats you, and the 8 paired up so if he had an 8 that beats you too. You could only beat a flush draw.

Agree with a fold here. With no information on what kind of player this is, there's just no way I'm calling all-in with middle pair. Maybe I'd shove at it myself to take it down if I sensed weakness. But if he beats you to the punch, give it up and save your chips for a better spot.

I also think that in order to analyze the rest of the hand, it would be useful to know where you are in the tourney and what sizes your respective stacks are.
