I was thinking about two options here: raising big to 1800 or folding.

I didn't like the idea of limping with a strong hand with so many players behind.

The reason I folded was because I was quite comfortable with the way things were going and it looked like the hand would develop into something where my 'edge' could not easily be attained. Remember this is a DEEEEEP tournament, I was happy with waiting.

Now... I'm not so sure... This kind of mass limping had been happening at our table a lot and maybe I should have dropped the hammer...

I think if I was on the button, SB or BB I would done this. My position was what determined my decision.

What do you think? Too weak?

It is never a fold preflop and almost always a 3bet here with AK. Cut off is also a great position to be in.

You're pretty deep but I still don't think you should fold here. A 3-bet is good here but making it too big can put you in a tough spot.

Yinkes. You're a better man than me if you can lay down AK without seeing a flop. I mean even if you did like you're edge I think a limp reevaluate is about the tightest I could play this. I don't know if it HAS to be a 3 bet this early tho because you guys know hes not getting everyone to fold pre here. Plus its a domino effect when someone behind calls. Then you have some hugely inflated pot that gets in you sticky situations when c betting or hitting one top top. Deeper in the tournament, depending on stack size, might be a different story.

You bumped this thread to suggest that HERO should be willing to get 130bb's in pre in early levels?
What if EP 4bet & then MP (who'd flatted the orig. raise pre) decided to 5bet (cuz he saw you in HJ, & figured you'd raise & be willing to gii for 130bb's w AK in early levels) ... are you still 'willing'?

Agree with you, but I think you won't often have those reads on PS.

pretty easy 3 bet iso with so many players in the pot, ak is a hand you would want to play heads up against these players rather than in a multiway pot, especially when you have position, its way too strong a hand to ever be folding in this situation
