should I be playing a little more cautiously here? maybe the hand is fine and I'm just a little annoyed because I was taking a shot by playing the bigger $11

I assume you 3B here pre with 30bb vs a loose opener? If so; the hand is played fine. We're certainly not over playing TPGK here with 30BB.

Yeah he was a loose opener. He ended up having Q9 with the 9 of diamonds so I guess I know I did the right thing. I'm probably just venting more than anything.

With KQs especially OOP I prefer only see the flop, so I play here call. The flop - better here is check/call IMO, because of flush on the flop or at least FD. If he has FD usually he will call every bet. Sometimes with the 9 of diamonds he shouldn't be too aggressive, so maybe you could see cheaply the turn and the river, and you could save some chips.

Your 3bet size seems rather small, especially OOP. With 5k in the pot, what's a loose player going to fold for 1k more in position?

Since he is loose, 3betting may well be preferable to calling, but you have to make it enough so he'll fold a decent portion of his opening range.

3B too small (as mentioned), but even though he is a loose opener, has he been folding to 3-bets? Several loose players at this level are also stations and will not make proper folds. If this is the case, you know you'll end up with a bloated pot OOP.
