Probably one of the worst flops for my QQ. 2 overcards and 3 to a flush and me showing up to the party with no club of my own! And I'm in the pot with the chip leader who can bust me.

Didn't know what else to do here.

(Running very hot and cold lately. I had a huge stack in this tournament and then started getting what seemed to be really bad runouts. Busted when AJo beat my AQs when a J came on the turn.)

NL Holdem $0.95+$0.10 (1800.00BB)
HERO ($161410)
UTG ($40495)
EP ($248525)
MP ($52230)
HJ ($52444)
CO ($45742)
BTN ($48399)
SB ($101243)

Dealt to Hero: Q Q

UTG Folds, EP Raises To $3835, MP Folds, HJ Folds, CO Folds, BTN Folds, SB Folds, HERO Raises To $11035, EP Calls $7200

Hero SPR on Flop: [6.17 effective]
Flop ($24380): K A 5
HERO Checks, EP Bets $12190 (Rem. Stack: $225300), HERO Folds

EP wins: $24380

I think, its fine to just give up here, since its pretty much the worst possible flop for your hand. You definitely cant check-call, and I also think, a C-bet is just lighting chips on fire.

Good fold TZ.
You may also consider slow playing your QQs preflop maybe 25% of the time. This isn't a terrible spot to do that vs only one opponent. Call preflop, and possibly call a reasonable cbet to see a turn. But here on this board - easy and good fold.

By considering a "slow play" with QQs we save chips when a board exactly like this one hits. Alternatively we can win a pretty large pot when the board is AQ5 rainbow, and we can check-call all the way down on boards that look favorable to us. Of course this play isn't suggested vs multiple opponents or when stack sizes are critical. Its not a terrible play in spots exactly like this though. :)

You should always be able to find the strength to give up when the flop is not suitable. Even if you have a strong hand on the preflop. And you did it. Hope to compete for this pot could only be with the queen of clubs in your pocket.

I would have folded there too. He has a lot of A and K is in his range so its not bad to fold there.
