Bad play? I raised on the turn to protect my hand from being outplayed, folded the river because the flush draw got there + the A is a really bad card; I didn't really beat anything; I bet pocket 3s 5s pair of 4s and 6 with a worse kicker, just seemed like I was beat

Not a bad play per se - but that flop gives us a big opportunity, since 422 hits the blind's range better than an MP limper's - I'd fire again on the river, fold to a raise.
