villian most likely has Q10 or a set of dueces. Slight possibility of something like A2/A4 spades. I would have bet about 650 on the turn I dont like the check it encourages hands like nut FD to bet large and try to steal, raise on turn would give you more info on what he might be holding, if he 3bets the turn easy fold. But if he just calls and no spade on the river you might be safe, I think betting the turn then will let you know where ur at in the hand a little better

ty. I folded his turn bet because I figured he had something like that, but I just wanted to be sure that my reading was correct since that's what I'm trying to practice.

The reason I didn't raise pre was because my standard bet size here was 3x+1 for each limper, and I didn't want to end up in a massive pot against calling stations with a weak-ish hand oop (which all of them were, sb had a fold to c-bet of 15%, MP+2 of 35 and btn of 23). Should I have raised anyway?

So for future reference I should:

1) Raise pre
2) bet/call flop
3) bet/fold turn

its a micro tourney, we can't give people decent ranges imo.

not to say we shouldn't, but if we have no reads, assume he's a fish since he limped.

ship flop and get snapped by Q8/Q9, KT or some kind of gutshot.

also, raise pre, free money is free money.

lol anyone saying there's a likely holding in a 4-way limped pot, especially one that has top pair second kicker beat on a draw heavy board. Villain could have practically anything.

I don't mind you calling his raise on the flop, because it keeps him in with weak made hands and it would almost be impossible for you to give him improper odds to chase his draw in a way that doesn't protect yourself from running into one of the very few times he actually has you beat. Most of the time you want to lead the blank turn to not allow him to check behind and leave you no idea where you are when the river comes down and also keep villain from betting so big you'd consider folding. If he raises you there, he most likely has you beat, but you can't just assume that because he bets after you show weakness for the third consecutive street.

Yeah raise pre for value. KQs is one of the easiest hands to play.

Echo what has been said, raise pre and then mark a few of them as fish

As played I would checkcall the flop and look on from there, because I think villain on the button would bet anyways. From there on I would probably keep taking a passive line to keep his bluffs in and maybe fold on a couple of cards.

But I also like the PFR more.
