That flop hit his range so hard. My gut says he flopped a set, if I was playing cash I get it in and 'nice hand' if he has it. Id prefer to flat here in position, although there is an argument for raising to 2.4k and folding to a re-raise. Definitely not getting it in on the flop though.

Play on. Raise or call. It would come down to my read on the villain. Personally I would be exercising pot control and would probably just flat him at that point.

I wouldn't fault a raise either - it's a only a little more than 1/3 of the pot and he could easily be doing that with a wide range including two overs, a straight draw or a flush draw.

Is pocket 8s or worse in a top 13% range? With such a tight-passive player a set doesn't seem unreasonable. I wouldn't expect a player like that to donk bet with anything worse than an overpair though.

I guess a set is possible, but most players wouldn't be donking if they hit their set (at least they shouldn't be). Normally they would check and let you c-bet into them, and then either call or raise.

Any post flop tendencies on the villian would help a lot, but I think I'm calling here and reevaluating on the turn.

hisbet size is so awkward, any smaller and i def raise for value, any bigger and i flat to keep it 3way. could go either way on this. this didnt smash his limp call range and sets are far more likely to c/r than bet/3bet due to his limp/call pre
