Seems like a standard cbet to me, he might have had it, might not, you coulda raised him to get more info if you had more chips, but your shortstacked, so prolly shoulda shoved pre flop, villain couldn't really call without a monster, the folds not the worst thing.

Hero was pre flop raiser, villain donk bet out.

@TC tough spot, i hate getting donk bet, its probably a fold but I might just spite call because its a donk bet lol.

With 15BB I would adjust your PFR slightly. Either go 2.1 and fold to this donk bet, or open for 2.9x and price yourself in.

I have been running into spots like this a lot lately and when I decide to "spite call" it has usually been strength from the villain. But I have been running like dirt lately, so that could just be the reason.

Thanks guys. Reading these comments make me realize that it was not a correct preflop play, which got me in trouble on the flop. I should have been more aggressive.

I don't think there was anything wrong with your preflop range or bet sizing.

calling the flop bet is a matter of stack size management and player read.

Your stack size cannot really tolerate just calling (which is basically a float) so you should probably either jam or fold.

without any read on the villain, I would just fold.

It could possible be a bluff and since you have pretty many outs and also position on the villain I would call to the turn, if he checks I would make a huge bet and take the pot ;) If he continue betting I would fold if I don't hit anything :)

Edit: You are pretty short stacked, sorry.. Then I would fold.
