This is a $1.10 satellite tournament to the $11 New Year Series event 48-L (8-max PKO) with first 53 places get the tickets. At this time we are left with 75 players and most of them ( us ) have around 10 BB. Everybody is playing pretty tight now at this table they rather fold then play junk hands.

Do you guys think that 77 is good enough to shove in this spot? I don't think that min-raising is the better option, and also a fold I think is too tight.

pokerstars, $0.98 + $0.12 - Hold'em No Limit - 1,500/3,000 (375 ante) - 7 players

Its a fine push. You have plenty of fold equity, and you are to short to fold your way to a ticket. I think, you can shove the entire "magic range" here, which mean any pair, any suited ace and any suited broadway. Also down to A9o and KJo. Maybe the worst hands in this range can be folded, like 22-44, but 77 is an automatic shove for me. Of course you are not thrilled, when someone call, but when everyone fold, you increase your stack more than 25%, so you are getting a good risk/reward. And if they flip over two overcards, its not the end of the world either. Then you have 20 bigs, if you win the "flip", and can perhaps lean back for a while and let the opponents bust each other.

Satty strat really depends on how close we are to the 53 place so if we are 57 vs 72 that does make a range difference in this spot-
As played it would always be shove or fold- the issue is there are 2 stacks that can call us and still be above 20bb and being first to act sucks as the best we can hope for when called is a flip-72nd I shove 57th I might fold and plan to steal my blinds back IP- you stated table is tight -if all we ever do is get our blinds back each orbit we will win a seat
That said it is not a big mistake- if a mistake at all -to shove here with 75 left and the table playing extra tight

Yes they played really thigh especially with 72 left. I was just unlucky to push and BB had a nice hand.

Yeah, I think that it just was bad luck here...Push was fine (y) This is kind of a situation where you can't play in a diefferent way...I mean, if you raise 2bb, then BB pushes and what will you do then - of course call, you need to call with 77. So it's just a bad luck for me
