You are talking about programs that are called HUDs. The most used and well known HUDs are PokerTracker and Holdem Manager. These programs record every move you and your opponents make in a game and display it in a statistical form. If you play often against same players you start to gather insights how your opponents behave. You can also learn how you act in different situations and analyze your own behaviour.

These are helpful programs but not all poker sites permit their use. For more information I suggest that you visit the sites of these HUD providers and see if they are good fit for you.
and is this program paid?
The programs are not free but in my opinion they are worth the investment.
does this program also calculate the odds?
No. During a game these programs do not show your odds.
Does it really help you become a better player?
There is no gimmick in the world that could turn anyone into a good player. HUDs help to make informed decisions but knowing how to play good and sound poker in all situations is the basis where we all have to improve ourselves continuously.

Poker Tracker a lil more expensive its what the pros use.. I use drivehud2 and it automatically keeps notes on player you have played with.. its $99 USD for the year and than it will renew at 9.99 per month after the year is up. you can also load your old games and watch and review your hands.

For now I'm just using the HUDs, which can help us in some decision making as we have some important information about the villain.
However, you need to understand what each status means.
I use Hand2Note which is free for microstakes.

I'm starting to get used to equilab (equity calculator), in addition to gto wizard (like a solver) because I'll start doing more in-depth studies in the future.
I hope to be able to help more soon when I have mastered some of these software.

PT4 is worth the investment. Be sure to learn how to get the most from it.
I'm having trouble retrieving my Database stats after my old computer crashed.

If you do not have a backup of the old database to restore, or a copy of the old processed folder to import, there isn't much you can do for most sites.

If you play a site like Stars/FTP, Party or WPN you can email their support and ask for all your old hand histories and tourney histories/results. PokerStars/FTP and other sites like ignition/Bovada, and GG Poker (and Natural8) have menus in their software that allow you to download the 'Last X' number of hands/tournaments or number of weeks/months of hands to import for review.

A few years ago, I used the Hold'em Manager program, until PokerStars decided to remove all auxiliary tools from the game. All players were monitored for HUD usage. I personally received two warnings that my account would be blocked if I continued to use the HUD in the game. I don't know how things are on the site now, but I've been wary of using Hold'em Manager ever since.

Are you sure this happened on PokerStars?
I do not know how PokerStars has acted in the history or in different geographical markets but as far as I remember HUDs have not been a problem for PS.
They even maintain a list of prohibited and permitted tools and services on their site.

Yes, {'m sure because Poker Stsrs was the only site I played more than 10 years until I came here and add GG poker. And if I didn't get those warnings, I most likely would still use Hold'em Manager - a handy thing. GG Poker has something similar by default, which surprised me a lot when I started playing there.
Perhaps something has changed on the PokerStars website since then, or the program has become more adapted to the requirements of the site.

I agree with you, because when the use of the HUD was banned (maybe something else was prohibited in this program), for some time there was a feeling that you were playing blindly, the quality of the game decreased. And then I also thought that I should rely on my observations and skills, and not on the program. In live poker, players do not use any tools.

HM2/3 has always been allowed at Stars. The only thing I can think of that you would have gotten warnings for, was if you were using HM1 or an old HM2 version after Stars changed some of their rules regarding what a HUD could show. HM2 was updated to conform to their new rules so all a customer had to do was an update. If they did not update for some reason then they would continue to get warnings until they update. HM1 was beyond its end of life at the point so it was not updated to be allowed on Stars.
