I realize the Aurora graphics subject has rumbled for some time...but here's an odd update.

When pokerstars forced the new graphics on everyone, like many, neither of my 2 (new) laptops were compatible and the PokerStars experience deteriorated so much I often could not be bothered to play.

So just yesterday, one computer issued an 'error' report, said it needed to close and re-open and did so quickly.

Then, hey presto, when I checked into PokerStars Aurora graphics available and a much better experience. I still feel it a partial upgrade as I went to the tools sections and I cannot fully upgrade all graphics (such as card backs etc) and I also know from experience this type of upgrade does not necessarily last.

However was this just happenstance or did anyone else also find their graphics improved?

They addressed the issues about 6-8 months ago where many saw relief of the burden placed on their computers.

Not for me.

The degraded graphics were all I could play until yesterday...and I had uninstalled and reinstalled PokerStars several times this year. All I got were the inferior images which looked similar to the mobile App. The player avatars were all squared off instead of being rounded etc. with the page appearing in faded tones.

Plus (to give an indication of how different everything was) when I opened the lobby the entire background was in white. Now the background to the pages is in black with white writing/text.

I used to have issues with this, where I discovered you could delete all the files in the Imgcache folder and the classic graphics would be applied when you re-started. But eventually, that no longer worked, but I have since then upgraded to a new laptop (well, for a refurb laptop that my tech savvy neighbor built for me for a real good price) and the graphics work terrific on my system, though I don't run the full graphics experience. I don't care for all the extra bells and whistles that the software has, I've even disabled the throwables, which to me, are a complete waste of time. But that's just my opinion.

My history with the Aurora graphics is a laughable mess...but its just great to have them if even temporarily -never a question of not good graphics, just compatibility. And today after checking, all is working including throwables (which I also find juvenile). But make hay while the suns shines....I fully expect to log in anytime and find them evaporated once again!

Hah, yeah! First problems today when I was running three different sites. Aurora started indicating it was suffering so I downgraded it to 'low' graphics performance option. Never mind, still a great improvement.
