This is mainly due to the varying legal restrictions on online poker among various countries.

For example, USA players have not had access to the main international pokerstars player pool since Black Friday and PS has had to pull out of Australia more recently. PS can be played for real money in New Jersey but the player pool is limited to people within New Jersey only.

On-line Poker is different in many part's or the World simply because of the Legislation of different Countries, and the Tax laws.
But isn't that the same with everything on this stupid Planet, You only have to go to the USA to see different laws in different States even though it is supposed to be the land of the Free! there are some things you can do in some States that would find you arrested in other's, Because of State Legislation, and bureaucratic red tape.
No offence to our American Allies but you cannot deny facts. You all know which States allow gambling and others that forbid it. That is why Vegas came into being, in the first place. Medicinal Cannabis is another example, Some States allow it, while others will put you in prison for using it.
You can please some of the people All of the time, and All of the people some of the time, But never All of the people All of the time, IMPOSSIBLE!
