Where Are The People On 888 With A 888 Flag From??

Lately I have been playing more tourneys on 888 with higher buy ins than I have before. That being said I have noticed when looking at the tourney players in the lobby where you can see where your opponents are from, I have noticed many black flags just saying 888. What does this mean? are they from 888 or are they 888 sponsored pros? are they bots? not sure what they are and it has been bothering me a lot. Mainly because these players play quite strong and run unbelievably good. It kind of has been concerning me a little bit.

These players seem to get lucky in unreal spots and run very deep and take down many big tournaments. They take down big tournaments but they are also playing in small buy tourneys to, I know because I play a wide range of tourneys depending on my bankroll at said time and how I'm feeling in general. Just very curios, I've seen such flags in SNGs, Mtts but never cash, it is semi concerning to me if they are constantly taking big prize money and you don't even know where the hell there from. I like to know where everyone i play against is from because a lot of the times certain countries have certain ways they play for example, the Russians, they all play fairly strong lots of bets, semi loose as a whole, like most players play very similar.

Does anyone have any information for me I'm not aware of, its been tilting me for weeks. Even if they are pros for 888, I want to know where they are playing out of, might make a difference how I play against the players. If there bots, I'm not playing the site anymore ever again. If they work for 888 they should still have to show where they are from. Please help with some good information. Cheers

I noticed it too, maybe they have chosen that option at registration...i found another interesting situation, majority of players has information about citizenship after ingame name but some has not...

It is very strange for sure, and very tilting. If a player is taking down big tourneys regularly with a flag like this it should be brought to everyone's attention, and we should be informed on these players and what they are or where there from. They are not just run of the mill players on the site that is for sure, they are very good almost bot like. I really hope someone has some info on this, I need to know whats going on with these player or possible bots. They could be pros I suppose but even if they are they should not get a 888 flag they we should all have to have our own flags for are countries no matter what. This needs to be explained or fixed, I want to know who I am playing against.

There are some CC FRC members with 888 instead of a nationality. They are from various places. It must be something you can request.

Hmmmm that is interesting. I don't think this should be allowed, even if requested. I believe it's not fair to everyone playing the game to just have a select few allowed to have such flags. which CC members have such a flag, I have some questions for them. There are not responding to this thread which is kind of odd as well. I'm still looking for some reasonable answers because if i see one more of these players take down a big tourney I don't think ill be play on 888 anymore for many reasons regarding this. Having it be an option is not a good enough reason as I was never givin the chance of it being a option.

I didnt know that i have that flag because i see my country flag.I dont know what can be,i m level 112 ,played before in one big tournament etc

I didn't realize that people didn't even know that others saw their flag as 888!

I forgot to note who was playing under the 888 flag, but from memory, an Ethiopian and a Hungarian, at least.

I just asked they 888 Poker rep. about these flags, I hope she answers back with a good reasonable answer as it will most definitely cause me to strictly play a pokerstars from here on out, bunch of b.s really. Something a little more damn informative for Christ sake, Pokerstars does not have this b.s and this site should not either,i don't think there going to get anymore of my business that's for sure. You go right on ahead and play them if you want, I think that everyone should have to show there country of origin no excuses, if they aren't allowed to show it because of some stupid country rule maybe they shouldn't be allowed to play poker online at all. Absolute B.S. no one is above showing where they are from in my opinion what so ever. You can't show where your from then beat it, don't allow said players to play atttt allll.

I agree completely, I think it should be stopped completely, I posted a response that the 888 support gave me but it just ins't the greatest reasoning in my opinion and should be rectified and made better or at least explain why these people are even allowed to play the game if said reason applies to them, it is complete bullshit and I think I am going to cash out what ever money I have on the site and never play there again until they change this, Pokerstars it is. Pokerstars is already a better site and just became even more reliable for this reason to me, Thank god for Pokerstars, Screw 888.

I noticed that several times and came the same question. At first I thought it was a software option that allowed hide nationality, I see that it is not.

I don't play with my hard earned money on those trash sites so i could care less what they offer and don't offer. These sites I speak of are the top sites in the game and do offer to see what countries players are from. 888 should not let people play under no flag. It bothers me such a big site cant figure it out. So i am leaning towards not giving them anymore business (which is a lot), I just play there for the weak competition, they don't even have steady games playing in Omaha anymore without a massive wait and there SNG wait is to long, GTDs are to small. This is just the straw that broke the camels back for me. Back to stars for me for the majority of my play.Cheers

I saw from another post searching google recently that some rep claimed it means someone is using old software and that some nations don't have a flag but this doesn't seem like a satisfactory answer. Either way I guess it's not that big a deal whether or not I know what nation a user comes from and it's definitely a source of trolling anyway
