I believe paradise is rigged. The person with the more chips seems to always win. But isn't that true throughout poker. It always seems like people are doubling up. I may be full of it, but just keep that in mind the next time you go all-in.

I've never played a site where there wasn't player chat aimed at the suspect nature of the "random" deals. There are some threads already open here on the subject, with both sides of the fence represented. I personally feel that it's a misperception that online hands are any more volatile than brick-&-mortar hands. It just feels that way because we spend more time playing online than live, we see many more hands due to the speed of the game, and inexperienced/inferior players hang around with weak hands for river cards they should never have seen. Sometimes we get rivered cause we ask for it with our play.

I don't play Paradise as often as some other sites, but I've got no beefs. And I dig the tropical motif.
Well put RammerJammer, When players play decent hands they should have a lot of outs going into the river...

I like Paradise, it is a good site for the most part. They do have allot of network problems and probably need a bigger server but..... As far as the river goes I have yet to play at a table, in a casino, at home, or on-line where the river didn't kill me so that's just par for the course I guess.

rigged

I don't know if paradise is rigged but it sure seems that way at times, especially when it's all in and you have a better hand before flop and lose.

Another thing about the torunaments is the all ins. Ever notice that ten minutes into the game (350 players) there are about 50 out. There are some poor palyers and it can be frustrating but be patient.

One thing that really annoys me about paradise is the fact in the tournament it doesn't show the amounts people have bet on the table unles you mouse over them. Even then it takes a good few seconds for the tooltip with the amount to pop up.

I like to have that info as soon as poss so I can decide the best way to play my hand.

Paradise is where I started playing online poker, I have had about equal success and failures there. I have had ALOT of bad beats, but that's gonna happen anywhere, whether or not there are more bad beats than there should be I don't know.

I think that most of the bad beats come from players playing hands they "shouldn't" not so much on what the software is.

For example the beat I took that stands out the most in my mind.

Playing a low limit game, I have pocket AA, I raise preflop, 2 people call. The flop comes no help to my hand but no scare cards (don't remember the exact flop). One player bets, I raise again another player calls, then the original bettor folds. The turn comes, is a 2, again based on whats on the board, not really a scare card, I bet, the next person person calls. The river comes, is an 8. Again, not much reason for me to think I am beat, I do only have AA but no flush or strt possibilities. I bet the other person raises, thinking maybe they hit trip 8s I just call instead of raise (have too much in the pot to bail incase they are just trying to take down the pot).

Turn the hands over, I have a pair of A's, they have 2 pair...8's and 2's. There is no way that person should have been in the hand. Calling a raise preflop with 8-2 isn't a good play, then to call another raise on the flop with no help at all, and yet again to call a bet with just bottom pair on the turn are just stupid plays. Granted any 2 cards can win, but there are just some cards you aren't "supposed" to play.

I like paradise. It's my second favorite room after Party.

The only rooms where it seemed like something bad was going on was bodog NL games and pacific. But after thinking about it, I believe it is because those sites have a sportsbook & casino, respectively. This leads to very loose games.

when there are 5+ people seeing the flop, the best hand at the begining is usually only 30% to win the pot. Too bad neither supported Poker Tracker when I played there, I could've analyzed the hands.

I've played a bunch of sites, and they are all the same when it comes to being "rivered". I happen to prefer the set up at Paradise, but I think that all the sites ARE truly random when it comes to dealing. We just all hate the bad beats and blame the site, when really it's our play or just pure luck.

I played on paradise for a few months. I agree that they have great sofware, however they don;t have many good players. I like players that are willing to bet a lot. The average pot sizes at paradise poker are usally small.

I like Paradise. Yes I have been beat just like everyone else. I remember one hand that I had JJ in the hole and 3 3's flopped. I don't remember how much I bet, but then a J on the turn, so I have JJJ33. Best hand right? Of course I thought I had the nuts and I know I bet big. He stays. What happens, another 3 flops for four of a kind and he's holding KQ. Or the time when I flopped a A-5 str8. He bets, I go all in. He calls. He's holding K-2 offsuit. The board 4 flushes and he beats me.

The list goes on......

But I like the site. I haven't really tried any other. I have played others, but like Paradise best.

Zepher Pocket AA's

I think a pocket pair are not all that great in texas holdem as you seem to get beat most of the time but it still is nice to have a high pair before the flop.

I played my first game last night at paradise and came fifth. This is a pretty good game. It was a limit game but only took about two hours. Evertone should try it.

Well, it doesn't mean they're not good, but it proves money can be made quite easily. When I say quadrouple my bankroll, I mean, I deposited x and made it 4x.
What were u playing i know u said NL but did u play in the sit-n-go tables or did u play at the multi tables or in the bigger turney's?

is it really the case?

As no stranger to poker tournaments I've talked to thousands of players and the most common statement is "I get rivered all the time at this site".

Most always say how they were cheated by old man river, you rarely if ever hear from a player about the great come-from-behind win after the turn.

As people we tend to always focus on the negatives instead of the positives in everything we do in life so poker is no exception to the rule.

Paradise is one of a dozen sites I actively play and enjoy from time to time. Trust me when I say no one is out to get you. Case in point, next time you feel a site is doing you an injustice whip out a pen and start marking the good to the bad on the river.

Its always one for one, one player is happy and the other sad. They always cancel themselves out.

I have played on lots of sites. I think I like Paradise best of all. There are lots of choices and it is a great site for learning. They have small 2 cent tables and you can buy in for as little as $.40. As you start to learn, you can move up on the tables. They have good graphics and lots of specials. Their deposit bonus is not the best though.

do alright in tournements and heads up

I play at paradise and i have only made money when i play in the no limit tourneys and heads up. The best tourneys to play are the $20 and up, less then that it is just recklass. the cash games seem to have miracle cards left and right.
