Fairly confident I'm up on every site I've played. (Stars, 888, Party, GG)
Thanks freerolls!
I rarely, if ever, deposit these days. When I do, it's to take advantage of a promotion rather than out of necessity.
Decided two or three years ago that if I ever get felted I rebuild BR from freerolls.
Thankfully I've only had to do that a couple of times.
$0-$200 via freerolls & micros can be a bit of a slog... :boring::stoned::help:
Making such a decision and then following through is the key. I recently posted in another thread about how I have gone about the first year of CC membership. 5 sites playing freerolls (and other tourneys entered via free roll cashes/tickets) and I am now up on all five.
However no other buy in's (as a discipline to retain backrolls) and no withdrawals (likewise).
That said, I am surprised that people can't pinpoint accurately where they stand with each account -and this appears frequently the case. It's an indicator of who takes their accounts seriously (which includes amongst other things free rolls as mentioned here) I have a spread sheet for each site I play. I have colums for ...Tournament, Day of Week, Prize Pool, Finish Position, Prize, Stack From Zero.
This is a key motivating tool for me. I know precisely the number of times I have cashed each site, and the exact total of cash I have accumulated (this is in part why I do not bother following CC leaderboards). I have a further sheet which details a breakdwon of totals from each site. So for example with two sites I have played in 5 different freerolls on each - I have a seperate count and cash total on every free roll. I then have a 'best cashes' sheet.
I have detailed this before and concluded others do not find it necessary. But as noted, it is a fantastic motivational tool, particualrly when in a downswing. You can see the arc of your progress, remind yourself you do cash regualrly etc. and all you are doing is experiencing a set back in the short term.
One of the best pieces of advice which I took to heart was a pro underlining to be successful in MTTs a pro needed to learn to cash regularly, that you could/should never rely on the occasional 'big score' to carry you through the leaner times - it would catch up with you.
So on my humble level I have always noted every cash and been proud, whether it is 5 cents or 5 dollars. When it is all laid out on a speadsheet you can see the arc of your progress and achievement. And as you remarked Tracid, if and when I make a truly notable score I will know how I got there.
