Unibet Poker closes accounts in Russia .

Today I received an email from unibet Poker about closing my account . This is very unpleasant for me ! I played with them for a long time and with pleasure . Unfortunately, they did not respond to a request for reasons for closing the account ! Does anyone have any information about this ? I would like to know about the reasons for closing all accounts from Russia !

We regret to inform you that we're closing all accounts in your country, which means your account with www.unibet.com will be closed on 25/02/2021. What is going to happen?



1. From 15/02/2021 it will be no longer possible to access our services or place bets. You will still be able to log in and upload documents or withdraw.
2. Any pending bets that are not settled by 15/02/2021 will be void that day and the stake will be refunded so that you can withdraw your full balance before we close your account.
3. The value of any poker tickets that start after 15/02/2021 will also be returned to your account balance that day.
4. Your account will be closed on 25/02/2021.



Should you not manage to withdraw your funds before your account has been closed or if you have any questions, please contact info@unibetsupport.com for help.

Didnt even realize people from Russia could play.I know a few years ago there were some sites that were about all Russians.Just figured they werent allowed to even play poker.

Its sad as always when your country leaves from a market especially if you liked it.

If I remember right, Ukrainen and Russian players (both or just one of you), were not able to play GGpoker, but now both countries are wellcomed. Maybe it could be a future's choice.

Its a business decision. They dont think, its advantageous for them to continue operating in the russian and some other markets due to limited profit and/or perceived high risk. Its no different than any other industry really. Recently Mitsubishi decided to stop selling their vehicles in a number of european countries, and then people from those countries will just need to pick another brand, if they want to purchase a new car.

i agree, and another reason, they are preparing for a restructuring or even a sale. not so long ago, i came across the news about the incredible profit of unibet last year. wondered why, if they take out of the country... i think this is a very real hypothesis.
