Tournaments on pokerstars

Good evening,

I know it will depend on a lot of factors but are there average times that different tournaments on pokerstars take?

there's a '1.5k gtd' tomorrow morning for example. How much time would I really need to make sure I have spare for that?

or one of the progressive ko's?

Depends how good you are... really bad players like me can finish tournaments in a few minutes, but that takes practice.

How long is a piece of string, basically.

Field size. Tourney speed. Those are the only factors to consider. The "guarantees" attract more players so personally I would only sit in if you have time to spare. I've played $2 tourneys which have run 6+ hours and I've played $22 games which are over in under 90 minutes.

If you are short on time, how about the 180 or 90 seat sit n go turbos? Those are often 2 hours or so. If you're looking at bigger MTTs then look at completed games in the lobby, you should be able to gauge from that.

Thanks, just found the option to look at completed games seems 4 to 8 hours. I may have a go at a few today as I have some spare time. I like the 36 player spin and gos and usually make it to the last 6 but feel there is too much 'all ins' in those games.

Thanks for all the replies. I had a go at two this morning, one 90 player spin and go and one bounty builder. The bounty one I was out pretty quick but after about 2.5 hours I was knocked out around 20th in the 90 player one. Well worth the 2.10 dollars, plenty of game time.

Most average guaranteed races take 6-8 hours. The turbos last 4-6 hours. The deeps are 12+ hours.

Of course, by the end.

But it may only take 30 seconds. You can watch all-in, call and more after another tournament.

If you dont have too much time to play you can play the Sit in GO mode

Depends on the number of players and the value in the prizepool. With less money on the line people will play more loose than otherwise. With 1000+ players it can take 2-3 hours to reach the final table.

typically 2K registrants or more in my experience usually take 2-4 hours to get close to ITM bubble
