On a 4-flush board like this they are not that low. Its basically no different from someone having Ac and someone having Kc on a board like Jc9c4c2c8s. Whenever you only need 1 card to make a particular hand, its much easier to make.

simple odds: it's 50/50 as it either happens or it doesn't.

real odds: 650,000:1

...for the real odds, i don't know if that's with both players holding suited connectors or not. maybe it doesn't matter?

The probabilities are less than 5%, it is very little possible, the flush is more likely since there are more cards than the straight that are some particular cards.
