I finally got a Saturday afternoon free to play in the CC freeroll club on party poker today. When I entered the password for the tournament it said I couldn’t register because I’m not a real money player. After much searching I found out that you have to deposit to be able to play real money games including freerolls. Really???

I play on 888 and pokerstars without depositing and have amassed about $65 between the two playing freerolls over a couple of months. I can understand needing to make a deposit before you can withdraw money for account security purposes and to ensure you aren’t creating multiple accounts. But to not be able to play a FREEroll without making a deposit is crazy.

Shame on you party poker. I won’t make a deposit there now just out of principle. You should be able to try it out before depositing and not just play money games.

If anyone knows a way around this let me know.

Cheers

My friend told me about this also. It really is unfair to exclude anyone from a freeroll for going broke or not having made a deposit. I have been getting free satellite tickets from Party sent to me in my email but they do not allow play in Panama. I wish there were a way I could give them away for free.

There are plenty of places to play poker for free,,,and i like it,it keeps the number of players down in their freerolls. It's nice to play a freeroll with 75-300 runners,,,:) Plus all the free tickets they give out,,, (the min-deposit is $10) Great value.

Yup. I much prefer that I have to deposit to be eligible to play FreeRolls than to play tons of FR's, build up a bankroll only to find out that to cash it you have to roll it over fifty times in the casinos. Then you get the "if you take our offer of easy bonus money, we're gonna f*ck you when you try to withdraw it" (IT again! - You Guys Rock!). Party is up front about it. "Don't deposit, can't play FR's" could not be more straightforward. I would recommend that you make the minimum deposit - I think it's $10.

It is unfortunate that you were not informed of this before.

This is actually a great rule by Party Poker. You have to get your account verified before you can participate in their freerolls.

It really weeds out all of the multi-accounts and their freerolls have reasonable numbers.

You can ask them via live chat, I use their live chat all the time and have gotten quick service.

I agree totally. A while back this had this offer to get new players to sign up which I did. I soon found out though that I could not play ANY freeroll tourneys that offered cash prizes unless I made a cash deposit first. Well I quit. SHAG them I say

Don't get me started on intertops they are the absolute worst out there. I have $10 rake to complete then we will see what excuse they come up with again to cancel my withdrawal.

Interesting story I had $40 from freerolls sitting in Party I was able to play freerolls without depositing maybe because I had my account so long. I deposited $10 and withdrew $50 immediately after no playthrough no wait time etc unlike the hassle other rooms give you.

Hmmm.... Never heard of this rule before. Never deposited to partypoker. Never been verified. Never had any problems registering for freerolls at PartyPoker. Maybe I'm grandfathered in?

Although I'm a stalwart PokerStars fan, PartyPoker has probably always been my second choice.

Thanks for responses guys. I guess I understand their policy it was just unexpected but if you get extra benefits with a deposit I might throw $10 down if I can get a withdraw from 888.

What do most people use to withdraw/deposit? Looking for something with no/low fees as it’s small dollars.

There are rumours that Canadians can withdraw from 888 with paypal!!! I have not done this, but you should check it out and report back.

Edit: And talk about extra benefits! Tons of free tourney tickets with deposit and a minimum of extra signing up/linking (PP Live, FaceBook Group, etc). In the exceptionally amazing week that just passed, I've won through freerolls and promos about $50 worth of cash and tourney tickets. This was also a week when I won nothing on CC FR's.

One of the Canadians might give you some insight as there are different cost/policies for all regions when using ewallets/bitcoin/cards.

I recommend skrill if its available for you. I use it with no fees to withdraw and deposit to all major Poker Rooms.

I agree with terryk, its great for depositors to be able to play exclusive free rolls at least at one site wouldn't you think.Parties promos are well worth a deposit.latest click card promo I've NAD 3 $1.10 tickets a 5.50 a 16.50 and 3 misses.that's a 10$ deposit back almost three times over.highly recommended in my opinion and I find gameplay seems more honest also but always see lots of four of a kinds,I guess numbers have parties too lol.

I guess it doesn't matter how long ago I made a deposit.
I recently re-installed PP after I'm not even sure how long, at least 7 years and quite likely much longer, and I remembered my login and password. Right off the bat I was able to do the click card promotion (3x $1.10 and 1x $5.50 tickets. I've played just 1 so far and cashed for $2.23) and I was able to play the CC today with no problem.

I do wonder how a cashout will be, assuming the situation ever comes up, since I don't recall ever having to verify my account way back when I played at PP, I just deposited a couple of times and played a bit, but I much preferred FT and PS back then.

I faced the same problem (and the same kind of reaction) and got it solved with no deposit bonus offered here - http://www.bankrollmob.com/poker-review/party-poker. It doesn't matter where real money come from to your account so any no deposit bonus would do the trick (though I could find only this one).

at least in Party Poker only one deposit is needed, in 888 you need to make at least one deposit during the last year if you use some withdrawal methods.

Actually I think this restriction is very good because it keeps the tournament safe from freeroll hunters.

You've missed unibet,
- no deposit required to play.
- no deposit required to withdraw
To be able to play at pp, I withdrew at unibet (banktransfer, no cost), and deposited it at pp.

Beware for the next surprise at party poker:
- at least cc frc winnings are not cash, but tournament dollars, requiring a playthrough.
- according to my firewall pp client is the most nosy about whats going on on my pc. They even want to put a hook on a password management program like keepass.

But, every room has it's pro's and cons. Some are just cons.

Unfortunately PayPal isn’t listed as a withdrawal option on 888 here in canada. It’s too bad, when I used to play a lot 15 years ago, I used PayPal everywhere. I still use PayPal for all online purchases. A shame they don’t allow it.

omg you cant deposit only 10 $ shame on you...

If I could deposit using something like PayPal or iTunes (I play poker on ipad), I would deposit in a heartbeat.

I’m weary about using my credit card or banking information especially in light of all the recent hacks.

Other options have high fees.
