I've heard that pokerstars have specific servers for specific countries, so players from those countries can't play with others from canada for example.

Does anyone know anything about that?
What countries are in those specific pools?

I've noticed that it has several same servers, but I do not know if the purpose is to restrict matches from certain countries. Maybe they are so many servers serve to give connection security in the system, maybe in your country the system goes offline then your pc can seek connectivity with another country.

Not true.
This only applies in the USA, where player pools are actually limited to just your state.

Everyone in the rest of the world, plays in the same pool.

No this is not correct. I have for example never seen anyone from Spain or portugal or I think france on the main site and I think they must have their own site.

Yes, in fact earlier this year the separate Spain, France, and Portugal Pokerstar player pools were combined in to one pool....still separate from the 'everyone else' pool.....however not really as separated as before as anyone in the 'everyone else' pool can sign up and play on the Spain/France/Portugal site (pokerstars.es)...so someone from Canada could sign up there if they wanted.

I think Italy is still segregated by itself, don't know about any other isolated pools (except I guess Pokerstars New Jersey).

False. How do you think those players from one country (I think it was Romania) stayed online during the DDOS attacks but nobody else did?
