Thanks a lot that was really helpful... I will try playing the freerolls in this format but doesn’t sound appealing using my own bankroll playing them! Thanks again for your help
No problem!
These freerolls are a little different though than regular bounty tournaments with buy-in. The standard bounty tourney's whole prize pool is divided in bounty prize pool and regular prize pool.
The bounty prize pool is won via winning the bounties on players. Here the size of starting bounty is standard for each buy-in, you can check it in the tourney's lobby. This 50-50 bounty scheme (50% to your balance, 50% to the size of your bounty for your "head") is the most common one, these tournaments are called progressive knockouts (PKO). But there are some other, less popular, variants as well - like fixed bounty tournaments (bounty doesn't increase), total knockout tournaments (the whole player's bounty goes to your account once you've knocked him out), probably something else is there as well..
The regular prize pool is to be won as in a regular tournament, you have to get into the ITM zone.
The biggest money is on the final table thanks to not only the pay outs, but also the fact that the remaining players have quite meaningful bounties on them. The winner usually wins 2x+ than the runner up, as to the first place prize he adds the opponent's bounty and his own bounty (which has just increased for knocking out the runner up).
So it's a fun tournament to play, where you can return your buy-in pretty early without even reaching the itm. Requires some adjustment and practice. But some players prefer to stay away from them what also can be understandable.
Anyways, good luck!
