Has anyone else done this mistakenly?

Been playing for hours, it was close to a break in the middle of the night, changed table, got a message saying we are now on a break, when we were not! I got up and left the table while in play.

It seems pokerstars briefly brings up the break message when re-tabling you when there is a slight pause adding more players.

General safety rule. If it isn't 5 mins to the hour, then it's not a break !

LOL yep, norm try to watch out for that but it was approaching 3am and a bit tired. I do not really expect a break message if not a break and was only playing 1 table at this point so easier to miss. I would keep bluetooth headphones on if Pokerstars didn't have the other issue of completely losing the sound if you turn off them off as otherwise they are quite useful as you hear when a break is ending.

when you are transferred to another table and if there are not enough players to start the table, there's a break supposedly you're talking about this situation and you thought it was a break and made a mistake and left. If so, you were probably too tired and forgot that poker has one break per hour and that's every 55 minutes

Yes, there is a 5-minute break every hour, but it happens during the tournament that there is seating and you have to wait a bit at an empty table until the other players are seated, but this is not a break, and according to my experience, the game resumes quickly, so it is not worth leaving the table until then.

No I have not done this, but I have failed to be back in time after a break many times, and I also sometimes deliberately go in the toilet, even there is no break. Its not ideal but usually also not the end of the world to sit out a few hands

Had it happen 3 or 4 times last week, almost walked away from the table the first time, but remembered I had learned to tell time & was able to apply this skill.

5 minutes are needed every hour for a short break, it's not the end of the world and I agree with 5 minutes of relaxation.

I agree with few posts above, that this happens on a new table occasionally but the fixed break is always 55 min past the hour.

Personally I would like every third break to be 10 minutes, if you are playing really long tourneys it would be nice you cant do much during 5 minutes.

Mistakenly? Who knows ... More like on purpose?

Also as far i remember then this message is more like "we are on break when current hand finishes" or something like that ...

Thats for the hourly scheduled breaks. If you just got moved to a new table, and you are waiting for other players to join, before the first hand is dealt, then the message is just "tournament is currently on break".

I know it and this has only ever happened to me until now when I come to a new table and have to wait for new players. My guess is that there are too few people and that you have to put all people at the tables again or there were too many new registrations and then they also had to convert some people but whatever the reason is luckily I've understood so far that it's not a regular break.

I agree with most of whats been said by the others. I think a 5min break is always good and needed. Helps clear the brain and its not the end of the world. Also I think that most sites now warn you about it.

I realise it is one break per hour, bet when it's almost that time and the table says "players are now on a break", instructing you are on break, it is easy to do f you do not realising they are misapplying that message. Players are not on a break, they are rebalancing the tables, very different things.

It's short, but if you go as soon as it pops up it's a break, which I do for the real breaks, it only takes a sec to walk away. Just need to remember on table changes to double check. But this message never used to occur on Stars.

Yeah that would be very useful if trying to cook something while playing and trying to serve. Easier to time into 10 mins but if you play cross sites they would need to match. Don't play ACR much but sure I have seen them break twice within an hour on some games, possibly after several hours of gameplay.

The current hand finishes bit is only in the chat bit I believe. I believe the table messages are identical in the two scenarios.

It's not a bug. It happens when a lot of tables are reorganized. You arrive at a table where are not enough players and you are on brake until the game from another tables finished so they can move players to your table. It happened to me on 3-4 occasions but the game has resumed in less than 1 min

Personally, I think the word break is misapplied. Essentially it is not a break. players are not going on a break, you are simply waiting for the tables to rebalance. The game can resume a few seconds after that message too. It also does not help being the same message used for official breaks.
