PS bought FT sometime ago. Then decided to close FT. And to not lose FT players they made quasi new FT platform that appeared to be very similar to PS'. And transfered old FT-ers there. Almost all tournaments now became the same for two different applications with similar design, running on one PS' server.

Good question. Seems kind of like Best Buy & Future Shop (Canadians will know what I'm taking about). Best Buy bought Future Shop - they were both consumer computer/TV/AV/tech gadget type stores. Many were located side by side. For a while they sold the same product and alternated sale weeks. Eventually they closed the Future Shop stores - took a few years if I remember correctly.

And same Single Sign In for both sites.
You should have just one account for use on both, or in reality for both brands frontends to the games and services.

Dixons, Curries and PCworld for us.

Why did the owners of Pokerstars even buy FullTilt?
Well actually they didn't it was the previous owners of Pokerstars that acquired it.
More of a historical and political story than economic value.

It is still a Brand Name though despite some tarnishing.
It probably appears on Amaya Inc's balance sheet with some value for the name.

They probably wouldn't sell the name though as that would increase competition.

Eventually people will probably just end up using the pokerstars interface, or the pokerstars logos will start appearing on the fulltilt login to smooth the final transition.

Quick Pole:
Do any of the knowledgeable Cardschat members still go through Fulltilt?

So, i got a problem

Hi, i was banned from PS in 2011 for a stupid minor problem that i had witha friend. We got into a fight so he stole mi laptop, log in with an User he had but had never previously used, he deposit some money, and he played till he dobled it.

Then he transfer it to my account and proceed to send an email to pokerstars saying i stole his account, made a deposit with his neteller acount and proceed to play and then transfer it to my account.

Pokerstars then frozen my account for an investigation, we lived together so the IP was the same, and he asked me for an explanation. I said to them exatly what im telling you.
They proceed to tell my that they must keep my acount frozen until the other user confirm that what i was saying was true (my friend doesnt even play poker, he only had an account cause i encourage him to learn, but he never cared). So he moved out, never answer PokerStars e-mail asking him to corroborate my side of the story, the years past as i kept asking Stars to unfrozen my account (Platinum star account at the time), i even add the argument that he didnt even care about poker and they can verify it cheking that never loged in again nor answer any e-mail, that this thing was just him retaliating cause we like the same girl, and Stars Security, even now, 8 years from now, keeps telling me that in order to restore my account they must recieve an email from the ****ing guy confirming what i say was true. I get a hold on him an even ofer him some money to do it but he dont remember neither his password or the e-mail he used at the time for creating the account, so im basically ****ed. If anyone came out with a solution for the recovery of my account im even ready to offer money if it works.

I tought on asking the security of full tilt (thats pretty much stars now) if we can forget about that incident that happened almost 8 years ago and let me open a new account on Full Tilt since its another site taking the fact PS own it.

So, any ideas?

Offer to pay your friend real cash if he emails them.

Pay him half and say you'll pay the second half when he's sent it.

When he's sent it, scam him and never ever contact him again. Karma only works if you are willing to enforce it.

It's pretty simple, pokerstars has long bought out a fulltime account and integrated poker rooms, and those who had accounts there and there they eventually have one account in common.

He will remember you paying him money today and will want more.

Believe me, offered him 1000 dolars, and he didnt even ask for more. He honestly said he didnt remember shit about that account and he would do it for free, cause he regret it.

btw 1000 dollars is TONS of money here in argentina, not to say en 2011

There's nothing you can do I'm afraid, firstly you are only allowed 1 account on stars or you will be banned, second is that they won't answer any queries that are not in relation from his account or the email from the account. I'm afraid you just need to accept that you will never be able to play there again. The only chance you have is if you contact management at pokerstars and plead your case hoping they will allow you to play but it's doubtful sorry.
