Hello,

I am new to Poker and try to play online from Cambodia. I registered my pokerstars account last year. And I didn't have time to play. I just start playing last week. So I log in back to my account and found out that my account is freeze and need verification to reactivate. I follows all the instruction from pokerstars by send them my ID and Electricity bill which are in my local language. After couple of hours, they send me the email to confirm that I am verified.
Stars

So I decide to make 20$ deposit. After playing few days, I feel like my poker skill level is still low because I always got outplayed. So I decide to step back, and learn more on poker. I request withdrawal of 7$ of my bankroll. Which is the money left from my first deposit.

After I requested, my account is freeze and I have to do the verification again. But this time because of my ID and Electricity bill is in my local language need to translate to English which I have to pay 20$ more to do so. I am really confuse when this happen.

So, does Pokerstars try to scam my 7$ money?

I think, the minimum withdrawal amount is 10$, so it will not be possible to withdraw your 7$, even if you send them documents again. If you can still play but just now withdraw, then I would spend the last 7$ on some poker tournaments or even a sports bet. If you get lucky, maybe there is enough to withdraw, and if not then at least you spend the money rather than just giving it away to PokerStars.

I don't believe so! As the mate mentioned ahead, there is a minimum withdraw (due the local/federal taxes), plus, notice that all game App/sites (steam and epic games .e.g) verified account in order to ensure your data/money don´t be violated.

In mi opinion, PokerStars is the best online card room nowadays.

It's not a scam . But I would like all.poker rooms to have less veryfication demands and time to check the papers you send them . All this verification seems very totalitarian and strange to me

It is for sure a hassle, that documents have to be translated. But then again we can hardly expect poker sites to have local support staff in even the smallest markets, where maybe they only have a handfull of customers. So if you live in a country like Cambodia, where almost nobody play online poker, you probably just need to accept, that you will have this extra inconvenience. Or like in this case just write of the last 7$ as a loss.

Its default that the withdrawal requirements are more strict than to make a deposit.
Its quite weird that you have to translate the already approved documents.
Im wondering if you’ve tried to prove yourself somehow else with alternative documents they not necessarily need to translate.
I would try for example with driving license, here in the UK it shows the driver’s address, so it can be used as proof of address, but its not in every country, im not sure about yours.

In the case you can’t succeed now, try to play in play money and improve your game or play freerolls and maybe you can make some extra and withdraw the 10$ or even more.

Good luck 🤞🏻

Pokerstars is one of the most respected sites out there. They are not scamming you but doing the due diligence. Poker is not an easy game. Use the funds wisly to learn and improve you ability to play the game. I can understand you dont want to lose the money you put in but it something that may happened before you are good enough to start winning.

A few days ago I also passed the verification. I sent them a photo of my passport and a receipt for utilities. The verification took several days and I passed it successfully. As far as I know, you only need to be verified once, and then you will have no problems.

in general, pokerstar may have some kind of fraud to delay the withdrawal of funds, because money on their website is beneficial for them as for a bank, but I don't understand why pay $ 20 for a text translation into English

For sure they dont care about having 7$ sitting in their account for a bit longer. Once a PokerStars account is verified, withdrawals are processed extremely fast. I withdraw via wire transfer, and the money usually arrive the next banking day.

Hi.
I don't think that a site like PokerStars will support the problem for $ 7, most likely you have a problem with the identification, and to write in the desired language there is a google translator.

The minimum withdrawal from PokerStars is $50. If you've only got $7 on the site I would suggest you keep playing until either it is gone or you turn it into $50. If you do the latter, you might decide to keep playing.

I had an issue a week ago where Pokerstars anti-fraud dept needed either my passport or drivers license as verification.

But as I don't drive or travel they still demanded it regardless even though I told them the situation.

Thankfully I was made aware by Pokerstars Support on Twitter that I could use my birth certificate and a utility bill and I submitted both pieces of documentation and was verified the next day.
