Guys, it seems to me, or this actually happened today, the pokerstars client program has changed a bit in design. Basically, these changes affected the settings section: "Appearance of the table" - "Theme of the table". :)

The software is already the best in the industry. I don't need the pokerstars app to be any prettier, I just need the owners to stop screwing players on the reward program!!

I agree, but the only thing players can do about that is vote with our feet, I.E. stop using pokerstars and take our business to one of its rivals.

If Cardchat would take it's daily tournaments away from Stars then obviously this would be perfect to stop using them but that is probably never going to happen :hmmmm2:

For me not much has changed, the changes should take place makes the game safer and overturn the deck without choosing a winner but winning who plays the best or who has the best hand

It's just an impression and opinion that they choose who will win anything concrete, I hope it's just a coincidence

I did not see the changes, if they were, maybe they were insignificant!

I'm not even certain I'm using eurora as I deselected it when having connection difficulties a little while ago.

That's true, I was considering quitting playing on pokerstars until I played the Cardschat Friday freeroll on there this weekend, and it was the best freeroll I've ever played (I.E. people were actually playing poker on there, not All-In roulette!) so that's going to keep me going back to pokerstars for the foreseeable future!

I cannot see how they would care if the cardchat freerolls stop as they make their money from people's buyins.

As you stated though people are playing more poker on there. Some pro's recommend sites like ACR because of the fish but it does get tiresome where poker is reduced to repeated allin fests preflop and you have to keep folding solid hands to continual silly shoves. Sometimes people still shove better hands but open shoving preflop has no skill and early on is pretty donk.

I prefer Pokerstars because it is the most stable platform I have played on and the software is quite clean and well laid out. Sometimes I will play Party but cannot stand the way the table image jumps and obscures the screen when changing tables if you are multi-tabling but overall works well.

For people stating to move away from it be careful, you could end up with a site like ACR crashing all the time in a middle of a game!

Well, if players win a freeroll on pokerstars, they're more likely to gamble those winnings on pokerstars than to withdraw them and redeposit them on a rival site. So that's one more player gambling real money on ps, which (when you add up all the freeroll cashers) keeps the number of active players higher on there, meaning less time waiting for sitngo tables to fill, etc, which again helps keep the number of real money players higher. When I first re-started playing poker, I gave partypoker a try but was put off mainly by having to wait longer for single table sitngos to fill up - and MUCH longer for multitabe sitngos to fill.

True but I would still have thought this would be such a minuscule part of their income. If you consider tournaments like the Sunday Million where the entry fee is $9 per person and last week got 10,890 players. Pokerstars made $98,010 nearly $100,000 just for hosting one game! I think sites profit a lot from getting people interested in Poker though hosting these freerolls though, but I do not think it would be damaging to them to remove it. But for me the stability of Stars has always been a drawing factor.

Hi guys. Let me disagree with you a little, as one old wise Russian proverb says: "To taste and color, there are no comrades". For me personally, the design of the client program is very important, since I really like the beautiful design of the programs. Let’s take, for example, this option of my thinking about this: for example, you will be offered a color and very colorful client program of your choice and a gloomy program in black and white, which one will you choose? It seems to me that you will nevertheless choose a color and very colorful client program. Guys just do not be offended by me, this is just my personal opinion in this very hotly controversial discussion. ;) :)

Hi Tracid. The new Aurora graphics engine, which recently launched the PokerStars poker room, is to a greater extent responsible for graphics, animation, sound effects and some interactive elements, but not for the connection. :)

I would choose the colourful option if everything else was equal. But if the black & white one crashed far less, had shorter wait times for sitngo tables to fill and/or took a far smaller rake than the colourful client, then I'd choose the black & white option. Aesthetics only count for so much.

I am ok with the changes. They are not major.

But there is one thing I cannot figure out what to do. How do I detach the chat, stats, etc., box?

I admit it does make it a nicer experience if the software looks better but I had to turn the graphics engine off as it was ramping my cpu up too much and causing it to freeze which is too much of a cost. My laptop is old though but still supporting an i5 processor although can't remember the generation. Funny though never had issues running pkr back in the day which had a lot of 3D gimmickry. Wonder what the graphics engine is doing that requires the CPU so much. I prefer the layout of Pokerstars to most sites but would say the design is still fairly simple to require too much cpu.

I agree. It continue to amaze me, why so many people still play tournaments on Stars, when you can play for at least 20% less and with better reward programs on a site like 888 Poker. For cash its a little different, since Stars is actually cheaper up front. But whichever site is cheapest, if poker players are not savage as consumers, we have no right to complain, when sites increase rake or cut rewards ;)

Generally gladly I throw in starsy if CC moved to the freerolls to party poker :) many players have quit playing PS because client programs are getting worse and the infantile ideas do not change that.

Aye, it's a basic law of economics that businesses will keep ramping up their profit margin (in this case, their rake) until the tipping point where loss of sales outweighs the increased profit-per-sale. We, the poker playing community, could bring pokerstars to that tipping point MUCH faster by simply not playing there... but inertia is the default mode for many humans, which is why car insurers almost always jack up their prices at renewal time AND why pokerstars will continue to get away with their rake percentages.

Well, you say many have quit have PS, and I'd definitely agree that their numbers seem to be way down compared to a few years ago (before I took a few years off from poker, which is maybe why the drop in average numbers on the site is so noticeable to me, a lot changes in 4 years) but they're still far, far and away the largest poker operator - if my quick google search has given me accurate info, they still account for half of all online poker traffic worldwide!
