How did pokerstars get so boring with their milestone hand celebration...

I mean, there was a time that they would make a milestone out of the last 100 million (before hitting the big milestone) and players dealt in would get a prize based on their rake paid in the last 100 hands. Now instead it was just the 200th billion one and players dealt in would get 10k each. (so it also didn't matter if you insta fold or played the hand)

So, just a few minutes ago the 200 billionth hand went by, and nothing was showing (no notification or anything)... Really boring and the lottery factor is way higher. Also that this went by so quietly is a missed opportunity, it was way more fun when you would get a notification and could watch when the hand was dealt.

From Pokerstars the last time, too, not in admiration.

I remember the milestones from way back.
It didn't used to be just the milestone that got prizes, there were good prize for each million hands leading up to it (eg: if it was 1 billion there were special hands for 990m, 991m, 992m, etc.).
I think back then the winner of the hand got 50% of the prize and everyone else at the table split the other 50%.
PS also did have a pop up announcing a milestone hand was being dealt so people could watch. It was always a 6 way or 9 way all-in since nobody in their right mind was going to fold no matter what they were holding.

I agree with you. I did not find anything changed.
