The case is that worldwide pokerstars has lost the throne against the Asian operator IDNPoker (no idea of this room), but for me even more relevant, it seems to me the fact that Pokerstars Europe is behind Winamax.fr, losing the leadership in southern Europe. I am sorry to see PokerStars in this situation after what it has been, but they have the enemy at home and until they are aware of all the mistakes they are making in relation to poker, they will not stop falling. That they keep trying to move recreational poker players to slot machines or similar games, while limiting the regulars' freedom to play at the poker tables and continue without having a VIP rakeback system (what they have now I don't even want to call rakeback ), who will see how quickly they end up being irrelevant. Dreaming is free, but I would love that, due to the mismanagement of the current owners, sooner or later the company would change hands and Pokerstars will be what it was for a long time: the best and largest poker room in the world .

I don't think that PokerStars will weaken its influence in the near future. But something new always replaces the old.

I have always believed that competition is good .... it forces you to improve yourself .... let's hope that in this world of the poker industry the same thing happens and that pokerstar offers better opportunities for its clients ...!

The same thing happened to me when I learned that ALIBABA, who is the Chinese Amazon, was as strong as in sales and services as Amazon itself. Remember that the Chinese population is huge, and any market that sticks to it makes it gigantic. Just by capturing 10% of the world's non-Chinese population, plus the Chinese, you can safely place it at number one.

When PokerStars introduced a 4 table cap for cash games last year, their cash game volume briefly dipped below IDNPoker. However it did not last for long, and during the virus related lockdown volume on PokerStars has surged more than 100%, while IDNPoker is only up 10%. Other competitors like partypoker and 888 Poker have also seen a 100% increase in volume more or less. So maybe PokerStars is losing market share in france but certainly not globally.

To be honest I am getting a little tired of all this mourning about PokerStars and "the good old days". Just let them run their business and then take yours, where you find, you get the best overall deal. In my opinion there are better sites for tournaments than PokerStars, but the cash games on Stars are currently full of huge fish and with lower rake than anywhere else. And then I personally dont give a f.... about rakeback or freerolls. Its like feeding the dog with its own tail anyway.

Pokerstars simply has become way too big to fail. They will change the decision makers if they see any risks to their brand

Excuse me friend, the article talks about the biggest prize in history in an online poker room, that does not mean that it is the most popular page. For telling you that the UFC's most expensive fight was a resounding failure for the franchise, to the point that they had to restructure the company .... they threw everyone out of marketing.

It's hard to believe that Stars are in any danger of losing their top spot whilst they are breaking records...

They have probably broken all their own traffic records as well as their tournament ones..

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

I hadn't heard of this other platform and the posts I read on your thread, it seemed an unknown entity to others also.

If you don't like Stars, that's ok and I accept it.

You should be able to accept it if other people do like Stars.

The merger/purchasing of UFC slightly baffled me at the time, I didn't really understand it and it doesn't surprise me that it might have flopped relative to their expectations.

I sent an email to Stars a couple of years ago asking if they'd like to employ me, if they'd taken me on and asked my opinion, perhaps I could have saved them the bother? ;)

I'm sorry if you don't appreciate my posts on your thread, as we probably disagree and neither are likely to change opinion, it's probably best to leave you too it rather than to bicker..

I'm not on cardschat for that.

Kind Regards.
