PokerStars disappearing throwables

Has anyone else noticed throwables disappearing after updates?

Now, don't get me wrong- I loathe throwables and abhor the fact Stars introduced them in the first place.

However, after being stupid enough to complete challenges to unlock a couple that were vaguely amusing/relevant, I now feel emotionally (and monetarily) invested and that something I earned has been taken away from me.

In discussion with support, apparently I am in a very small group of users who have lost throwables which were unlocked.

It is what it is and they have promised (multiple times) it will be rectified soon. Initially I was told it 'usually takes 24-48 hrs' but that was weeks ago...

Yesterday there was another new table layout update after which I have noticed that some throwables are no longer just unavailable to me (greyed out), but not displaying at all...

The one I noticed which was gone entirely yesterday was the 'alarm clock'..

Anyone else noticed anything similar with these less-than-novel novelties?

It's ultimately totally unimportant but for me it's the principle of the matter- Stars made users complete challenges (spend money on their site in ways they would not normally) to unlock these so should hold up their end of the bargain.

Interested in your thoughts/experiences!

Here in sweden poker sites are not allowed to offer incentives, because apparently that might be bad for people with a gambling addiction. And apparently that also prevents them from offering us those "challenges" to unlock more throwables. Since the introduction of these I have therefore been looking jelously at people having fun throwables, that are out of my reach. But at least I can always send someone tissues to dry their eyes, when they suffered a bad beat or donked away most of their stack

I have also lost some throw-ables after an update, and funnily enough I asked "Pyeface Poker" a online Streamer if he had the same result after an update, He explained that there where a few that had been deleted because they could be considered inappropriate in some Countries. But I agree they were a bit of fun, and I also lost a fair amount of money trying to win a few.
In my point of view, now they have done this, I certainly wont try to win anymore, What's the point of winning them, only to have them withdrawn when they feel like it?

I like to try to tilt a player with them. Probably limited effect but worth a try. Horseshoe and Salt Shaker are my favourite so far.

Everything that Tracid said, has happened to me also. almost exactly.

i got 4 throwables unlocked with long hours of play for 2, and money for the other 2. and they never showed up. i emailed tech support and they told me 48 hours and now it's been weeks. i emailed them again and they said theyre aware of the problem, 2 weeks later.... nothing.

i paid 50 dollars for 2 of them. that's what pisses me off.

the other issue i had is that i had a bunch of throwables that i originally earned and were working fine disappear. i emailed them, they fixed most of them but i'm still missing 2.

at this point, i really don't even know what to do.

i wish someone had an answer.

I do not use the throwable objects, I think they are a distraction for the game, however they should not be removed because it is something that has been earned or achieved with the effort of each player.

He didn't go into detail on which ones were deleted, but as I said I will not try to win any more in future, It's their loss not mine.

I thought they just expire after a period of months, or if they're seasonal or promotional.
People from certain countries, seem to still have them to hand, so maybe PS is selective where you live...

Ok I got it after watching the video.

For unknown reason I don't have such option to throw and haven't seen this before, maybe it's because of my graphic settings, I keep it as simple and informative as possible.

pokerstars is a really funky site for last 5-6 years, instead of reducing the rake - they increase it, instead of giving a clear cashback - they're giving you a chest with some spin and go tickets.

It was an error.

Some players (like myself) have lost the ability to use throwables which were legitimately 'unlocked' via their 'challenges'.

This isn't something Stars decided to do.

The software has broken and they either are struggling to fix it or are not prioritising it as something which needs to be fixed urgently.

So suckers like myself who wasted BR on unlocking these ridiculous gimmicks basically threw money away for items which we were told would be available to us after completing related challenges.

To be honest I wish they would just remove them all together or better yet never introduced them in the first place. Don't see the point in them really nothing but a gimmick.

I do agree though that players having spent hours of play and dollars in rake in order to unlock new throwables should not then have them removed, wasted of time and effort.

What pisses me off, is that I had to play cash games to get them...so in effect, I bought them. Not giving them back is like stealing...
But really, its only the poo throwable that I miss, despite several being missing.

My advice to you would be to be like a dog with a bone.

Basically corporations only ever do anything if enough of a fuss is made.

No fuss = 'we can get away with it'. This is how they usually behave.

Of course it is a balance, you can't fly off the handle but, if you state your case calmly and repeatedly ask what they're going to do about it- they always have to do something.

They have made some offers to me but as far as I'm concerned- their responsibility is to rectify the situation.

As it stands I'm currently updating them weekly that the matter remains unresolved and will let them know if/when it is fixed.

Out of interest, do you play on the PC platform or Android/iOS mobile?
