Hey so can anyone explain to me a better way to fill the chests on pokerstars. I play a 2cent buy in tourney and get 2 points, I play a 25cent buy in tourney and get 2 points. So I'm really not sure how it works. Should I play cash games in stead?

Thanks,
S.powell

If you're playing micro stake tournaments or sit and go's it's practically impossible to get the chests unless you are playing a huge volume of them.
As for playing cash games, it is easier to get points for the chests because of the big pots and the non capped rake in them.
In my opinion you should disregard the chests totally, because their rewards aren't worth the risk and grind.
Paying $100 in rake to get $0.50 back from a chest is not worth it.
Focus on improving your game, increasing your winrate and exploiting the weak players instead of chests.

Okay thanks, I was just curious. Hower that doesnt 100% answer my question. Is there a chart somewhere that shows what you get points based off of?

You can find the full details here:
https://www.pokerstars.com/stars-rewards/

"Players earn 45 reward points for every USD $1 paid in fees for scheduled tournaments, and 100 reward points for every USD $1 paid in rake in Zoom or cash games"

As an example, to get a blue chest which has an expected value of $0.60 you need to get 2850 star reward points which means $63 in tournament fees or $28.5 in cash game/zoom rake.

I also play MTTs and find it useless to try to get these chests. My first level required 150 points which as explained requires more than 3$ of rake tobe paid to get it. When you play 0.55$ MTT you pay for rake 0.06$ which means you should play around 55 MTTs to get to this level. I did it for several months (it is good that these stats do not reset unless you do not play for 3 months or more) and i expected 0.60$ cash prize. Instead i got some stars coins and some points for the next chest level which are not useful to me at least for now. My advice is to just play your game and do not focus on the rewards program unless you start playing much more seriously.

I'm still wondering why I suddenly have to earn 2500 points to get a blue chest, where before it was a lot less than that. No point me contacting support at the moment. It's not like I've ever achieved higher levels and I don't play a lot of cash and when I do it's at the lowest stakes.

Dont pursue them. They are not worth it. A scratch ticket has a better return.

Yeah I made the mistake of playing too many tourneys when I was tired as had 9 chests and wanted to be in the next level up as the blue ones are so crap. Now that I have reached tear 2 though just aiming to hit at least one every 28 days.

Need to spend a ridiculous amount in fees to reach level 2. I think approx about 550 in just fees so approx $5,500 in tournaments to reach level 2. I should have switched to some cash if I wanted to do this but really only play tournaments. Too time consuming. Do not think the rake back on Party is this hard to hit. Not sure what GG is like on rewards?

Let's be honest. In all of us there is a vein that is waiting for a miracle and loves to get in the way. Someone more, someone less. But in any case, at least a little, but opening a new chest, we hope to see there $ 1,000. Of course, we often see +21 old coins there, but this is a completely different story ... But it is better to release your excitement in chests than in casinos and high-tech games.

PS chests are not that good now. When the coins could be used on The Deal, I think it was better. I always waited for a big amount of money to start every twelve hours. I got some good prizes.
I opened a chest these days, and, sincerely, Didn't like anything at all.

It use to be such a good reward system when they had the old Gold tier. I don't think its cost effective chasing the levels for this. Interested to see what the difference is though.

Got my first bronze chest. 2x0.25 spin and go tickets and 3x $1 spin and go tickets and about 2.5x the coins of blue chests. All in all much better but certainly not worth chasing bearing in mind you need to get 5950 points!

Bingo, unfortunately that's what it was all about, read my mind with a precision of details that scared me. See you at the tables, better not. LOL.

I wonder if the player-friendly rakeback system will ever return to PokerStars? Or so the escape of regular players from the largest poker room will continue..

For the blue chests sometimes you need as little as 300 points and sometimes as many as 800

because it's an insult. Stars should've just eliminated their rewards system instead of pretending it is something special. It is a joke!

Even if they only cut their old system in 1/2 At least you'd know what amount you'd be getting after playing 'x' amount. With this system you win some sh1tty tickets to some useless SPIN games.

The fastest way is cash games, but I recommend you complete them with games where you make profits. Because if you lose money trying to complete them it wouldn't make sense

It's a fixed amount, it always stays the same. Not on that chest so cannot check without looking at the site but it tells you when you click the bar and its always that amount. Cannot remember it it's 2500 points.
