hello everyone
Because of the corona pndamic and the economic suffering in my country Lebanon its been 3 months that ive returned playing on pokerstars to try and make some money from abroad and slowly started grinding low stakes and up to 7 dollars sng and spin and gos

has pokerstars become unbeatable ?
i mean 8 years ago i would deposit 20 dollars and turn them to 500 sometimes within a week
now i spend an entire month to make like a 100 profit and last month i lost 60

im studying hard and trying different formats from zoom to sng spin and go max ..
i even bought hm2 to gain some edge
and yet the game has become so much less profitable to the point that its really hard to profit and really easy to loose

FINALLY

do u guys know anyone that has been able to make a reasonable profit on pokerstars ?
and how

I am not much above break even but keep getting close to final tables and some final tables. If your putting the effort in there's still lots of players in games that will jam with air or call with really bad odds. But personally I would stay away from spin and gos. They are okay for a bit of fun but they have such huge variance you cannot base how you are doing on them.

The problem is that there is a huge influx of recreational players who don’t understand a lot of the basic principles of the game. You end up with too many chances for them to suck out on you where a better player would have folded. Long term, you would make more money from these plays but they can certainly cause you short term trouble, especially if they keep busting you out of tournament by catching their inside straight draw on the river with you holding top set and betting pot......

At micro stakes you have many players who play just for fun and it is hard to predict their actions. Additionally the level of players who are trying to become better and improve their game is rising constantly due to the abundance of free useful information online nowadays. Definitely it is harder nowadays to beat even low stakes levels and that is why i play for fun and not try to earn some significant money.

I've been having the same problem, I managed to raise to 110$ in a week from 25$ and now im around 80-100 for last 2, 3 weeks. It seems impossible, whenever I actually grind to 110, 120 I have 2 most obnoxius days of poker in a row and Im back on 80$. I feel like theres too many bad beats, I've played in another poker rooms as well and it's never been this much, Im literally going crazy by playing on pokerstars for a month lol

Hi.
Obviously, a skilled player will be able to make money on this site. I think everything is decided by the skill, experience and of course the luck of the player.
Good luck.

There was an issue with bots players on Pokerstars. I think they need to improve the heir security but it's hard to bring them any accusations, they still own the biggest platform world wide

Then you were almost certainly not using proper bankroll management, and you basically just got lucky to go on a heater and not go broke. Sure games have gradually gotten tougher over the years, as more and more knodledge about "GTO" poker has become available. But you have also started out with formats like Zoom and Spins, which did not even exist 8 years ago, and you can obviously not expect, that this is the same as the games, you played 8 years ago. The softest games are generally regular cash tables and MTTs, and maybe some of the normal SnGs as well, but rake can be a bit of an issue in these.
