After 10 years my pokerstars account was blocked. I sent them a request to block only the casino because I no longer wanted to lose money earned at poker there, and they sent my email to the gambling addiction section and since then my account is frozen.
Now for all of my messages i got only one answer: "We take our responsible gaming obligation most seriously we cannot reopen your account"
If I kept losing money at the casino, everything would be fine, but if I didn't want to play there, i am a gambler. HYPOCRITES!

I am sorry that your account has been frozen, I hope you can solve that but without offending you it was not easier to say I will not bet more in the casino because I lose a lot of money? Did you have to opt for the option to block the casino? I do not know and believe me I say it with all respect but if you can not simply ignore the casino option you may have a problem of betting addiction.
I really want you to solve this and I agree with you, they should never freeze your account for that reason but I think you should evaluate if you have a gambling problem.

I like casino games just because of the good promotions they usually offer, but my focus is on poker. perhaps the way you made your request made them think that you are an addict and need help. Try a new approach, say you like poker and want to play again, you just don't want to play the casino because you don't consider it a strategy game, just luck.

Even if I have problems with gambling and ask them to close casino section, they should do it, not freeze my entire account. For me poker is not gambling and they should think the same. That's why I don't understand their decision.

They are just following the law in whatever jurisdiction, you are in. Your email is a request for self-exclusion, which they need to react on, and the only thing, they can do, is to block your account. If they did anything else, they could lose their license, and any legal poker site would have done exactly the same.

You sent them an email requesting to block your casino option? Or you selected this option in their software?
Because I already used the option to block the sports betting in their software many times and nothing happens. When I want to bet again, I only choose the option and in 24 hours they release the sports bets again. That’s why is so strange that their frozen your entire account just for that.

I think it depends of what he wrote in the email, because in a lot of poker rooms (like pokerstars, bet365, betfair) you can request for self-exclusion only for poker, or only for sports betting or only for casino games) and you can continue to play in their other games.

You did the wrong thing. There is nothing to blame them. They did everything according to the law.

yes is problem these gambling internet casinos
i have similar experience
win hefty prize play poker, then enticed for the lucrative promotions, decide visit virtual blackjack tables
is lots fun, with live cute boy in fancy suit dealing. and chat with players
i lose all my poker winnings & most what remain in account - sucks *sad - tears*
i just no go there again

a friend is on government gamble addiction program - regardless he begs & pleads, that changed mind, wishes play now - the downtown casino refuse him entry - it the law
it extreme difficult escape, once you commit to gambling addition

Yes, there is the option on their software to only block one type of game if you want :(
If I was you, I would wait a couple of weeks or months and then try to contact their support again requesting to reopen your account. I don't know how PokerStars manages this type of situation, but I know that are others rooms that reopen accounts after a break period. You may need to answer some questions to make them assure that you don't a have a gambling problem. It's not a sure thing, but I think it's worth the try if you really prefer to play in PokerStars.

Well from what I can tell the casino is integrated into the poker client so they want people who play poker to explore the casino as well. They probably make a lot more money from casino than they do poker.

I'm not so sure making another account is a good idea. Your frozen account is still an account and there is a good chance that they will link the 2 and exclude you from their site. This would probably happen after you built a good balance and you would lose all that due to breach of terms and conditions.

Maybe the best thing to do is ride this out a while, support has been pretty poor since the covid situation. Then try and find out how long the exclusion is for. I would be surprised if you get a meaningful response at the moment since they seem to be just sending generic replies.

Yes if you ask any casinos to block access to their games, because of an addiction problem , they will freeze your account.

Maybe you can open an account somewhere else. I never touch the casino games, they are just based on pure luck. Next time stick to poker only.

I have found that when pokerstars offer their challenges they do so at limits just a little higher than those that you usually play at. For example if you usually play spin and gos at 25 cents then the challenge will be offered at 1.00 minimum. Of course they are hoping that you will up the stakes you play at in the future. Another example of their hypocrisy in action!

Guys, do not play in the casino. Your money and nerves will stay with you.

I didn't want to play, that's why I was banned.
They are intentionally addicted poker players to the casino, that's why they added the casino to the software.

If you need some type of games to be blocked, because you can not manage to just stay away from them, then per definition you have a gambling addiction problem. And if you have a gambling addiction problem, then its probably a bad idea to let you play any kind of games.

its very hard to quit an addiction. so when you said you wanted to stop the casino part of your online gaming, that raises red flags to them. So they avoid any lawsuits that can arise from you saying that you requested them to stop you and they should of known to stop you at poker to, they shut your account.

But poker is not a gambling? Why compare these two things?

You need to contact their support service again. I think they will decide this issue in your favor.
