Curacao, November 3, 2006: Tropical Poker announced today that it has signed Cindy Margolis to an exclusive poker representation agreement. Margolis will represent the Tropical Poker brand in the press, media interviews, poker events and appearances, as well as the 2007 world series of poker. Fans of Cindy will also be available to play poker and chat with her online at Tropical Poker.
“We are very excited to be working with Cindy Margolis. She has tremendous popularity both on and off the Internet, and we are thrilled to have her represent us in the media, at special events and in the online community,” said Cynthia Popov, PR manager for Tropical Poker.
Actress, supermodel and poker celebrity, Margolis is widely known as the most “downloaded” star on the Internet. Her debut on the cover of Playboy Magazine later today will surely bring rise to her poker and celebrity status worldwide.
Margolis has become a highly sought-after poker player and recently played at the ABC Pro-Am Equalizer and the 2006 World Series of Poker. She also recently appeared on the cover of Woman Poker Player Magazine.

“I am positive that the Tropical Poker brand will suit me very well, and I look forward to being a representative for them. I couldn’t be happier to join the Tropical Poker team,” she said.

Because of this, the freerolls are double the cash prize! Take advantage of this!

Did she have her own poker room?

Woman Poker Payer Magazine featured Cindy Margolis in the March/April 2006 issue.

Excerpts from the article:

She has been taking poker lessons from Cyndy Violette and admires Daniel Negreanu's playing as well. She has been hooked on poker since her husband stated playing home games.

In February she attended the World Poker Tour Invitational at the Commerce Casino in LA. The WPT also has chosen her as Official Spokesperson for their social networking site(this is similiar to MySpace wiht blogs and forum so I won't put that name here)

In January of this year solidfied her interest in poker by launching her own online poker website. CindysPoker.com(Which I do believe looks to be shut down when I just searched for it. Probably due to the new law)

She also has teamed up with Cyndy Violette to do a reality poker television show co-produced by celebrity agent and promoter, Mike Esterman. They are in development with "House Rules" a live competition to find the best home games from around the country. Entrants can submit videos of their poker nights, and thirty will be picked for a visit from the House Rules team. Cindy and Cyndy and a yet to be determined Male poker player, will go to the finalists' houses and play against the locals.(I kind of like this idea but I haven't heard anymore about it since this article came out)

She has a possible animated series coming out. Cindy has also been chosen as the new cover model for The 10th Muse comic book series, which has been optioned for a major motion picture.

She is a very busy lady to say the least.
I really don't know what kind of player she is but it seems she isn't all looks and no brains!

Hey Tim-when you talk about freeroll prizes being doubled and other special events taking place at Tropical because of Cindy being signed, give the credit to the CC'er (ahem, ahem, me) that told you about it!;):D
Give credit where credit is due:p

See, another reason Tropical is better than other sites. Sure so-and-so plays at Stars, this guy plays at Party. I would play poker with Cindy Margolis rather than them other guys.

Nothing like having a middle-aged, former internet boob tease attracting young new poker players?

Has tropical poker gotten any better? I played there about a month ago for a week... could barely find any cash games with players.. highest was 25 50 cent only for a few hours a day. Had to cash out for lack of action.

Not yet, but due to the U.S. players looking for poker sites that are not shutting its doors to the U.S., Tropical Poker are getting new players every day.

I played a little at tropical and took advantage of a very nice overlay in one of the MTT's. If they could just get a base of a few dozen players who could sit and multi-table the small limits they would probably catch on. Poker 4 Ever needs the same thing.

Although we did have few players in the past, Tropical Poker is receiving more and more players everyday. We have increased the number of games and tables, have several promotions going on and we're always having big tournaments. From a $5000 guaranteed tournament to high speed daily sit n' go's, Tropical Poker is now a more diverse spot to play.

Our Hold em tables are getting fuller and fuller and you should join in to the action. Omaha gets few tables moving but its increasing slowly.

Right now we have a Thanksgiving Special event going on which consists of 2 $1000 guaranteed tournaments and one $2000 guaranteed tournament, the first two to be played on Nov 11th and Nov 18th and the last one on Nov 30th. Qualifiers for that are going as low as $1

So you guys can come around and give Tropical Poker a visit and help us become the best option for US players to still enjoy the great game of poker.

Thanks!

Although I like the aspect of prize money augmenting due to presence of famous people, I do not like the general conceptof females becoming implicated with poker to increases turnouts. If it works for people, that's great. But I people that people should be attracted to poker for what it is, and not to the propmotions. But hey. if they work for poeple, then why no do it, its a great advertising oportunity,

Just my opinion on Tropical, it's pretty easy to find a game during peak hours. Off-peak hours you might have to wait a couple minutes and usually the table doesnt fill up. Sit-n-gos are pretty much hopeless but they do have heads -up play for every level. Over all I like it because I like small sites better than big sites.

That's true Jimbo, usually weekdays have more traffic around the early afternoon say 12-3pm Central Time, weekends have more activity mornings and nights (specially sunday mornings)
